# Nicole Kidman Wears a Formal Apron

On Monday, we noted of [Nicole's Academy Gala look,](https://www.gofugyourself.com/photos/academy-museum-gala-black/the-fourth-annual-academy-museum-gala-arrivals-79?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) "It's well-made and it's elegant and it's also very straightforward and a little dull. But she *just* lost her mother, so I also understand not wanting to show up to this in something utterly wacky." I feel like she read that and thought, "You know what? Maybe wacky *would* cheer me up a bit." I absolutely support that and I hope this Bottega Veneta *did*. It is highly whimsical and it IS fun on her.

This top might be an actual napkin -- it has no back and it also lacks sides:

And the skirt -- which I honestly love even though it is a bit kooky -- might be...ribbons? It sort of looks like scratch paper but do people even USE scratch paper anymore? I guess that doesn't matter if it's being used as a skirt anyway. Either way: I hope she had fun in it.
