Is this the best Dior we've seen all year? I mean, is it the Best Dior we've seen in MANY years? To me it's happy and light and luscious, and as I noted for Cosmo, Natalie Portman and J.Law should both have felt a twinge of envy.

And yes, it does complete the rainbow in the back.

I am also in love with this, though the pink soles on her shoes that I can see are kind of distracting. What a gown, though. Only Nicole could manage NOT to look stumpy in something that hits her right there. And she was so eloquent and composed on-stage. I thoroughly dig her right now.

I also need to note that Keith and Nicole are both very good at supporting each other while also ceding the spotlight to each other. Jess and I were discussing whether Justin "Pop and Lock" Timberlake (tm Lainey) could have contained himself if he'd accompanied Biel -- who presented and has a TV show now -- to the Emmys. Keith knows how to be restrained but still present. It's nice.

Shai looks great in this very simple velvet gown, although the overall styling feels a bit thrown together, perhaps? She kinda stepped in it when the interviewer asked about her not owning a TV, and her response was to go on and on about how she always asks her friend how they have TIME to watch TV, and then added, "I'm a reader."Psst, Shailene: I'm a reader, too. The two aren't mutually exclusive. Besides which, you got your start on TV and are currently benefiting heavily from this TV show. Your agents might be stressing out a little right now.

Reese, honestly, was the most underwhelming to me. It's very interesting: I wonder if she chose a suit because she is, effectively, The Suit in this scenario: She bought the project, she packaged it with talent, she was its driving force. This marked her even more than Wild did as a mogul, so going more business than beauty pageant fits. Unfortunately, though the color is gorgeous, the shiny fabric is a little unforgiving of any imprecisions. It photographed better here than most other places I saw it. Am I being too hard on it? I didn't even know it was Stella when I wrote most of this slide.

I don't hate this? But the top looks like parts of it flaked off, and the bottom is kind of a car wash.

I adore him, so I wish his new show looked better. (Then again, I didn't hate the trailer for The Orville, but then I watched the pilot and HOO BOY WAS IT HORRIBLE, so maybe this will go the other way.) He looks dashing, though, as does his wife Naomi. When can we hear about HER lipstick?

"This is your mustache test, America: If you do not like me in one, then perhaps they are dead to you entirely."

That is a lot of A.Skars in one shot. What does one call a high concentration of Skarsgard(s)? A Skarsgardia?

Congratulations, ladies, on proving that female-driven projects can be enthralling to EVERYONE. Not just other women. (But also, frankly, so what if it IS only enthralling to women? We matter, and so do our eyeballs.) Here's hoping we'll come to an end of an era where women accept awards and mention that great parts are hard to come by.
