# On This Day in 1988, George Michael Looked Like Peak George Michael

Isn't this photo just such a time capsule? When I think about George Michael, he looks like this (although he is, of course, wearing jeans). Which makes sense, as this was around the time that *Faith* was everywhere and he was on a world tour supporting the album.

The gorgeous bra-topped woman with him is Kathy Yeung, who was known as George's girlfriend at the time -- George obviously later came out as gay, so I'm not sure if they were actually dating at this point, or just very good friends who let people *think* they were dating -- and who is also the model in the "I Want Your Sex" video. She's a very talented makeup artist now ([she works with Rita Ora and Aubrey Plaza a lot](https://www.instagram.com/kathyjeung/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)), and she wrote the most touching tribute to George when he died:
