This is... hideous. It looks like she had a Lady Accident and used whatever she could find to hide it until she could get home.
I love her, as you know, but I think it's weird to change into something if a) you don't have a lot of skirt to wrangle, and b) you're going down a grade in formality. The VF Oscar party isn't casual, and this feels it a bit. The pattern is pretty, but... the white part of the bodice, also, looks so flimsy and shabby, like orphan rags from a production of Annie. PASS.
This is majestic on her. With good accessories I'd have LOVED it.
She was right to change, but not into this. I know it's McQueen, but it might as well be that Chanel westernwear. So awful. She looks like the younger addition to a Deadwood brothel.
"HOLA LOVERS. You did not think I was finished for the night, did you? HAD YOU SEEN MY THIGHS YET? NO. And that is how you know The Lopez's work is never done."
What is even the point of that belt? Don't just throw on superfluous accessories, y'all. They need MEANING.
I figured she'd go back to her basic black. This is gorgeous on her, though, and I like it a lot better than her other ensemble.
She looks so fantastic in this -- she had two great looks in one night, which is more than a lot of people mustered. Laura Dern, my new style envy?
I love Naeem, but... this is kind of a sloppy, piecemeal Naeem to me.
I don't know if this is also Alaia, or what -- she said on the red carpet that Alaia designed "all my dresses" but who knows if she really meant this one as well. She looks nice. Simple. I'm glad she kept it basic. I THINK I can see sheer bits in there somewhere? But it might also be a trick of the light, and if they're there, they aren't egregious.
This dress says, "Thank God this is over. I'm not leaving home until this child is six months old."
