(Photo by Kevin Mazur/WireImage) "Life Size" came out a few weeks before this Oscars, so this absolutely is a thematic tie-in. Tyra knows what she's doing. ## Trey Parker and Matt Stone ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/GettyImages-78572536-1616697716.jpg) Trey Parker & Matt Stone (Photo by Jeffrey Mayer/WireImage) I FORGOT about this! We're a month after J.Lo wore that to the Grammys and a year after Gwyneth wore that to pick up her Oscar. They were nominated for "Blame Canada," which Robin Williams memorably performed at the show, but lost to a freaking boring ballad by Phil Collins (from Tarzan). I still object. ## Tom and Nicole (in Dior) ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/shutterstock_editorial_5141173w-1616697971.jpg) Mandatory Credit: Photo by Bei/Shutterstock (5141173w) Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman 72nd Annual Academy Awards Arrivals I WANT to love this on Nicole, but the design of this dress is distractingly messy to me. That must have been enormously annoying, but it was her first nomination! You don't want to miss that. (It was for Tumbleweeds.) ## Roberto Benigni ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/GettyImages-51544957-1616697679.jpg) LOS ANGELES, UNITED STATES: Italian director Roberto Benigni arrives on the stage to present the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role during the 72nd Academy Awards 26 March at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The dress has so much hanging off the bodice; that was a bit too much icing on the cupcake. ## Cameron Diaz ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/GettyImages-96425176-1616697743.jpg) Cameron Diaz (Photo by SGranitz/WireImage) Oh, Cam. Williams during 72nd Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, United States. (Photo by Ron Galella/Ron Galella Collection via Getty Images) Every single time she appears on this site, I say, "I MISS HER ON TV." It's still true. Maybe SHE should host The Bachlor/ette, but in character as Wilhelmina Slater from Ugly Betty. There would be a LOT of impatience and eye rolls and disgust, in a way that show badly needs. ## Famke Janssen ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/GettyImages-179816356-1616697810.jpg) Famke Janssen during The 72nd Annual Academy Awards - Vanity Fair Party at Morton's in Los Angeles, California, United States. (Photo by Wally Skalij/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images) I FORGOT MATTHEW CUTHBERT WAS NOMINATED. (Also, his fiance Jewel Van Valin is dressed like Marilla, sort of.) His kind face always makes me want to cry, which is why I never watched The Straight Story. I just knew I would be a puddle. Apparently he hid a terminal cancer diagnosis throughout award season, and was in great pain which led to his death by suicide six months later at his ranch. So very sad, but how lovely that he had this moment before he left us. ## Brad Pitt ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/03/GettyImages-614194614-1616697835.jpg) LOS ANGELES, CA - MARCH 26: Actor Brad Pitt smiles during the 72nd Annual Academy Awards - Press Room at the Shrine Auditorium on March 26, 2000 in Los Angeles, California.
