"HOLA LOVERS. Look at me, so innocent in 2010, so certain that I would have an Oscar by now, that Jennifer Goober and Ben Aflac would have gone up in flames, that I would never send Marc back to Munchkinland. In the words of Beef Chunk, two out of three is not bad."

At the time, I wrote of this ABSURD side view that it was "such a cascade, Marc tried to climb in a barrel and go over it," and I stand by that.

This is pretty on her, but those shoes are totally wrong with it. I don't know WHAT they were doing.

This LOOKS a little department-store (in terms of budget), but it also fits her really well, so whatever.

So romantic and gorgeous -- not usually words I associate with Versace, to be honest -- but it's doing some SERIOUS pinching of her boob.

Why did Karl turn her abdomen into a pile of pent Kleenex?

Holy hell, this is dismal. I thought that top thing might be a scarf....

... but apparently it's the straps?!? What? Why. Is she a hostage?

When you see the details up close, it's really ... just a whole lot.

I miss Jenny Packham. IN GENERAL. I do not miss this Jenny Packham, which is a reasonable skirt and then a horrible long-line bra that's been vacuum-sealed to her.

This is by far the better Armani, between hers and J.Lo's. At the time, Fug Nation agreed.

This was beautiful, and the best Cammy D had ever looked. It might have needed a bracelet, but it's stunning.

At the time, I remember thinking this was a super choice -- it's the Golden Gown On Your Golden Night choice by a surefire winner (which backfired on Glenn Close last year, sadly). But the top now seems a BIT lingerie-adjacent for me.

This one was all about the necklace, but I think a different color would have set it off better. This is so plain and uninspiring.

Hard to find fault here.

This is a showcase of GREAT jewels against a really average gown.

This is one of two gowns that looks like somone wrapped a duvet around a bodice they liked.

That's outstanding neutral makeup on Meryl. She's not working a bright lip, but she is working *a* lip. Proof that it's possible. Also, this gown was by the late Chris March - she wore him twice that year on the big stage - and that makes me so sad now.

Oh wow, he really had not settled into his style yet. He looks like a complete goober, and she looks amazing.

Wow, I guess Donatella was really feeling ruffles this year. This one is having the same pinching problems Demi's did, and in fact the entire thing seems like it might have crushed her lungs.

So, so pretty. It's like an homage to Monet.

I think... no.

This high waist with a peek of boob cut will also come later Zoe Saldana, and we saw it a minute ago on Anika Noni Rose. TRENDS.

We liked this at the time. The gown itself seems pretty; I just think Kristen seems visibly uncomfortable in it, and it needed neck jewels that also probably aren't her jam. If only the sexy lady suit were as popular in 2010.

Memories!

Y'all know how I feel about Marchesa now, but back then we didn't know, and I have to agree with 2010 me that this is really good on her - and give credit to Georgina for dressing her back in a time when women who weren't sample sizes were still treated as impossible problems.

This gown is handpainted, and lovely, and also probably needed a hoik.

I forgot she won this year! Where IS she?

The indecision on her shoulder is weird, but this is pretty cool, right down to the matching bracelet.

Me today might find this wackily charming; me back ten was like, "What the Muppet murder hell?" (This is the other duvet-ish dress I referenced earlier.) I wish more of the skirt were ruffly -- it would hide some of the stitching that isn't attractive -- and also that the top appeared to be having more than just a perfunctory conversation with it.

She looks like she's being felt up by someone in satin mittens.

Her train is strapped to her boobs. This is a terrible idea.

This is also dramatically good on her.

Nice color, but it's heavy and uneven and I think it needed lipstick.

Lovely.

I assume at this point she was still the Sunday Night Football singer, and if she was waiting all day for THIS Sunday night, she should've waited longer.

THE SHOES ARE HURTING MY FACE.

I wish this didn't appear to be bunching into a black triangle RIGHT over her crotch.

It's worth noting once again how far she's come since The Simple Life.

Keanu's neck beard is still very real.

Ryan, my dude, are you the Green Lantern or the Orange Nightlight?
