TELECAST: Anna Kendrick in Thakoon

oscars best dressed 2015

This is just perfect on her -- one of those times when a custom dress seems wholly worth the work.

TELECAST: Behati Prinsloo in Armani

oscars best dressed 2015

She outshone him.

TELECAST: Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent

oscars best dressed 2015

Better than anything she wore for 50 Shades.

TELECAST: Emma Stone

oscars best dressed 2015

Y'all went nuts for this, so here it is. Personally, I am not wild about the color, but she did everything that could be done with it.

TELECAST: Jamie Chung

oscars best dressed 2015

Who doesn't love fireworks?

TELECAST: Jenna Dewan-Tatum

oscars best dressed 2015

I am concerned we're seeing a Jessica Simpson-style open-mouth thing developing with her, but she looks pretty.

TELECAST: Jennifer Hudson in Romona Keveza

oscars best dressed 2015

Crisp, and a fun color.

TELECAST: Joanna Newsome (with Andy Sandberg)

oscars best dressed 2015

Another Fug Nation favorite.

TELECAST: Lady Gaga

oscars best dressed 2015

ONLY Lada Gaga could do it, and I'm glad she did.

TELECAST: Laura Dern in Alberta Ferretti

oscars best dressed 2015

This was custom, and it shows. Other than her hair being in her face, she looks FANTASTIC.

TELECAST: Lupita Nyong'o in Calvin Klein

oscars best dressed 2015

This one is in both best AND worst polls, because Fug Nation was really divided on it. Honestly, I don't like it -- and it's not even the pearls; I actually think the shape is very, very unflattering on her.

TELECAST: Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent

oscars best dressed 2015

A wonderful movie-star moment from one who's on the cusp.

TELECAST: Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford

oscars best dressed 2015

I just loved this. White or light blue, whichever -- it's great on her.

TELECAST: Robin Roberts

oscars best dressed 2015

She can do no wrong.

TELECAST: Rosamund Pike

oscars best dressed 2015

FINALLY, something worth celebrating, although next time I hope she dispenses with the matchy shoes.

TELECAST: Scarlett Johansson in Versace

oscars best dressed 2015

Most of y'all loved this, as-is. And so here it is for the vote.

TELECAST: Zendaya

oscars best dressed 2015

She looks nice, but mostly, I'm putting her in here because either a) she herself is a savvy and intelligent delight, or b) she's smart enough to surround herself with people who are. Her online response to Giuliana's ABSURD comment about her hair (she basically stereotyped that anyone with dreadlocks must burn patchouli and smoke weed) was classy and researched and well-written, and anytime people fight idiots with finely honed words is a great day.

POST-PARTIES: Amy Adams in Versace

oscars best dressed 2015

OKAY, now we're into the post-party chunk. This was another crowd favorite.

POST-PARTIES: Danai Gurira

oscars best dressed 2015

This was a ME favorite. That necklace is amazing.

POST-PARTIES: Diane Kruger in Donna Karan

oscars best dressed 2015

She looked as good in this as a person can. Do with that what you will.

POST-PARTIES: Felicity Jones

oscars best dressed 2015

So much better than her McQueen telecast gown.

POST-PARTIES: Hailee Steinfeld in Andrew Gn

oscars best dressed 2015

The most vibrant gown of the night, I think.

POST-PARTIES: Laura Dern

oscars best dressed 2015

She just basically does no wrong.

POST-PARTIES: Lupita Nyong'o in Calvin Klein

oscars best dressed 2015

NOW we're talking, Lupita.

POST-PARTIES: Margot Robbie in Dior

oscars best dressed 2015

Margot here is ALSO in both polls -- she had a REALLY good night.

POST-PARTIES: Natalie Portman in Dior

oscars best dressed 2015

She makes it look easy. It's not.

POST-PARTIES: Olivia Munn in Zac Posen

oscars best dressed 2015

Most of us liked the dress, even if she didn't quite seem at home in it.

POST-PARTIES: Sarah Hyland

oscars best dressed 2015

This was another surprise Fug Nation favorite. It IS cool, and so different.

POST-PARTIES: Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung

oscars best dressed 2015

She's never looked better.

Oscars 2015: Fug Nation's Best-Dressed
Okay, because the Oscars are A Grand Affair, we do two separate Best Dressed polls: for the main ceremony, and the after parties. All the candidates -- chosen from the stuff we liked, and then trying to gauge what you responded to that we didn't -- are in this slideshow, with the telecast contenders first, then the post-parties (all labeled). The separate polls are after the jump. Sorry if that seems confusing; we're trying not to drag out the voting, and four different posts certainly feels like it would. As ever, it's an evolving beast.
