## Penelope Cruz in Chanel

I just can't. They did not need to glue-gun those sparkles to the front. It's all just sort of overworked.

## Lupita Nyong'o in Chanel

We've seen a lot of stuff "inspired by" older designs, this one being a 1991 outfit. I wonder if that's Chanel's new designer trying to get familiar with the archives while figuring out how to drag this brand into the now. I'm not sure it needed the metallic cage, now OR then?

## Elle Fanning in Givenchy

Elle hit the carpet first, so this was technically Sarah Burton's first creation in her new position at Givenchy -- or, the first we've seen in public -- and it's quite good. Revolutionary? No. Elegant and a wise choice for a reboot? Yes. It gets my hopes up.

## Ryan Michelle Bathe and Sterling K. Brown

A ridiculously attractive couple.

It's... fine? It's fine! I wish I couldn't see her navel, but what can you do.

## Jacki Weaver

YES to sparkly silver boots with this. White would have been so boring. This gives it some edge.

## Sosie Bacon and Scoot McNairy

That's super beadwork on Sosie's gown.

## Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Brandon Wilson and Ethan Herisse

I didn't have pictures of the lads separately, so we get Aunjanue again! Ethan's twinkly suit is great. Brandon's, I feel like... may not work but I would be interested to know if it's a reference to something I don't know.

## Clarence Maclin and Divine G

Sing Sing should have been nominated for more AND won more, but I LOVE that these two had the best time.
