Jacki looked nice on Sunday. I'm sure it was weird for her to be there -- I mean, even she seemed sort of bemused at having been nominated for a part that was actually more of a supporting-supporting thing (like being Off-Off-Broadway). But who cares? Take that nomination and run. And she WAS good in the movie. The dress is fine; the high-waisted thing works on her.
I just had a weird flash forward of Adele in forty years.
This feels a bit Satin Bag Church Lunch.
I like this a lot, though. It's interesting and intricate without being overwhelming,. She's SO petite; I'm sure it's tough to come up with stuff that achieves that balance.
This is nice, too, although I think the cut of Sunday's dress was better on her. It's also very Former Showgirl in a way I appreciate.
Okay, but do you think anyone ever wants to get invited to an event called AARP The Magazine's 12th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Luncheon"?
I LOVE this: great color, cool jewels, and non-nude shoes (seriously, Hollywood, you can use a metallic as a neutral to spare yourself the zzzz-factor of actual nude shoes -- try it).
And this is really gorgeous! What were we DOING? Why didn't we talk about this before? We are the worst. I'm Monica and I'm disgusting.
And although the basic design of this gown doesn't thrill me as much as the former, the color is wonderful, and it's super flattering. Jacki's formalwear is quite varied, in a way that I applaud -- there are a lot of older actresses who could benefit from a chat with Jacki's people. And even maybe some younger people. GET ON IT.
