Annette Bening

"Waiting... waiting... waiting... giving Annette her moment... can I go yet? No, one more second... one more... aw, hell, this sucks."

WARREN: Heyyyyyyyyyyy! I'm here! Supporting you! Come on, let's laugh it up! Let's hug it out! It's what the people want to see! Am I right?

ANNETTE: Ah, yes. Warren. I didn't think my solo shots would last long.

WARREN: It's about you! It's about me loving you!

ANNETTE: Mmm-hmm.

WARREN: Let me just... nudge up here a little... the light is better on my face in the foreground.

ANNETTE: Oh, I bet it is.

ANNETTE: Come on, I've had enough, let's go inside.

WARREN: Oh, good, as long as we're walking on my good side. I look so manly and in CHARGE from this angle.

ANNETTE: Okay. You know what? Here's what we're going to do.

WARREN: ... REALLY?

ANNETTE: Yes, really. You're there, I'm here, equal position.

WARREN: I hate this. We look like junior-high kids slow-dancing.

ANNETTE: I love this. People can crop you out if they want.

WARREN: Boo. I was totally going to win this round, too.

ANNETTE: Not tonight, honey. Not tonight.

Oscars Fug or Fab Carpet: Annette Bening
I don't actually think this dress is fugly -- it was one of the Naeem Khan gowns I pulled for our Oscars speculation slideshow, noting that whoever wore it might need to un-sheerify it a little. Annette definitely did that, but I'm not sure there was enough room for her chest in this one. Things seem a little... snug. Like she was stuffing her bra with oranges to hurl at Natalie Portman, should the kid best her once more. (Good thing she didn't. I don't think America would react very well to a person winging hard fruit at a pregnant lady. Although the subsequent attempts to apprehend her might have been amusing.) The real question is whether Annette was able to carve out any prominent red-carpet real estate on the arm of her attention-hug husband, Warren Beatty. I am so fascinated by their dynamic. I'm going to miss them now that all this is over. Please, Annette, get nominated for something again soon so we can see how he's grown. [poll id="1382"]
