This is another one of those dresses that overthought itself. She looks very nice in it, and it fits, PRAISE BE, and LIPSTICK, etc. But I wish it had continued as it began, OR perhaps broken into the ruffles at the waist, and gone for maximum drama, rather than just... knee drama. There is only one knee drama in the world and it is "Here On Earth" and it is where Leelee Sobieski is felled by knee cancer and can't live to flourish under the love of Chris Klein. Or even sad, rejected Josh Hartnett. And even THAT knee drama probably shouldn't exist.
See? That's so pretty. AND the ruffles are pretty. I just think it needed to be MORE ruffle, or none.
This is fine, and also very January Jones to me. I can totally see why SHE changed -- that delicate grey train would've gotten ripped and trampled at this party. But Kristen, WHERE IS YOUR BRACELET. This one NABs way more than the other one because there's nothing ELSE. At least that one had a necklace.
She looked great in this, too, although those shoes gave me a moment of, "Oh, my God, are we heading back to a 2003 place with our feet? I CAN'T." Although at least they're not slides and/or kitten heels, because then I really WOULD be standing in the middle of a Steve Madden ten years ago.
These two. I am delighted by them.
