I love La Field for going with a giant long skirt -- she's usually more restrained than that, so hooray for drama.

I mean, that is some length. I wish it were ruffled like that from the waist all the way down, but then again, maybe it would've looked too much like she should also have a hoop skirt and a twirling parasol. Mostly, I wish the rest of the dress were worthy of what the train is doing. All the red-over-nude (or red-over-skin) bits make her look wrinkly.

I hate this photo of the back of her gown -- its private intricacies should be invisible; that elastic portion looks like a Sears slip -- but I LOVE this photo of whatever Chris Tucker is doing. Wich, in my head, is a re-enactment of the mall scene in *Soapdish*. Apt because did you notice that her *Lincoln* clip was pure Celeste Talbert? Let's reimagine that entire movie with a) the *Sun Also Sets* score; and b) Bolt popping into every scene in his spandex, saying, "I was at the gym doing leg lifts with Father Corey when I heard about your war of words with Thaddeus Stevens. Are you all right?!?"

At least Sally is not wearing a miniskirt and a tulle swaddle. There's a lot of wrapping that's adding up to a lot of crimson chaos. Frankly, neither of these dresses is draped very convincingly. It's like they had two ideas for skirts, and were like, "Eh, just... sorta roll some other fabric around the mannequin and call it a day."

Seriously, I know Swank was at a party and Sally the ceremony (but presumably ALSO the parties), but these two are way too similar for me to think it was smart business. And also way too meh. But because I am mean, I'm going to make y'all pick a favorite. I'm going with Sally because at least I don't feel like I've seen her skirt a hundred times before.
