Gloria seems to be enjoying the hell out of awards season -- she's gone for a lot of big gowns, a lot of sexy gowns... it's fun. I love it when you can tell somebody isn't concentrating on being Cooler Than All Of It and just admits, hell yeah, this stuff is crazy fun.

She looks about as happy about this crackpot get-up as I am.
So simple, so lovely.
This girl's personal style usually makes me bonkers, but I think this is stunning. Well played indeed, milady.
This is horribly bland and boring. Jessica Lowndes, you can surely work up something a bit sassier than this. Or maybe you can't. I stopped watching 90210 so maybe you have become hella bland while I was looking the other way.
This is kind of over-the-top-adjacent, but I like it on her. Her hair also looks way better than it often does, and I always applaud a triumphant hair story.
I always forget that these two are married. They look very handsome together, like a beautiful pair going off to a very fancy wedding where they plan to spent the entire reception bitching at each other and then making out at the valet stand.
This is very pretty, but it feels SO DRAMATIC for a party. There are photos of her backstage at the Oscars, but she didn't appear to have walked the red carpet. If you're working a giant train and emerald earrings, go chat up Ryan Seacrest, is my motto. [H here: I also feel like this is WAY close to Chastain at the BAFTAs, which is a tough battle to win.]
Is that nipple, or just the illusion thereof? Oh, Mel. This was not a shrewd pick.
I keep thinking it's pretty, and then noticing the giant white codpiece underneath it.
I can't with this nightie.
For a satin wrap dress, this held up rather well. I don't think this is bad, but it IS hilarious that TV's forthcoming Red Widow chose that color for her Oscar getup.

This is all a big no for me. Whatever's happening in the chest region isn't working, and the lipstick and shoes and non-pedi are all slapping each other around.
I want to clip that stray piece trailing behind her, and I kind of wish it didn't split in the front, but the longer I look at it the more I like it. And her face is so good.
Listen, since it's The Age of Channing Tatum, y'all need to see Step Up if you haven't already. Because Rachel Griffiths is SO WEIRD in it. For real, half her lines, she just trails off mid-sentence into a whisper. It's a treasure.
This is a great dress. It might be doing weird things to her abdomen? But she is so pretty and it was very nice to see her. I wish she hadn't had to sing that Ted song, but what can you do? Work is work.
But I REALLY wish she hadn't had to sing that song in this. It's so terrible -- a preying mantis of a bodice made out of rejected shoulder pads.
