Whifflander

"Look, milord. It is a love sac, baby."

Mutinylander

This is the quietest rebellion ever.

Crosslander

Claire spends a great chunk of this episode in highest exasperation, because everyone is pooh-poohing her and nobody understands modern science.

Halolander

And then the heavens parted and let down a shaft of light unto the very face of Human Kindness, moments before that flame would be crushed by Satan's candle-snuffer.

YoHoHolander

A typhoid life for meeeee.

Hammocklander

I'm not sure why Claire wasn't on alert for this kid showing any signs of contagion, given that he was with her in the trenches the whole time and had basically no early sense of how to disinfect himself.

Howardlander

Typhoid Howard didn't even really get to say anything. He just watched his dreams of cooking mediocre slop for sailors go down the bilge pipe.

Frizzlander

"FERGUS IF YOU CANNOT SPEAK SELF-RIGNTEOUSLY ABOUT DYING FOR SOUL-BELACHING LOVE THEN YOU OBVIOUSLY CANNOT TRULY FEEL."

Frauleinlander

This is Claire's very best Fraulein Maria, from when she first leaves the Abbey. She has confidence in science. She has confidence in grog. She has confidence she'll soon end this whole slog, and as we can see, she has confidence in SHE.

Fetuslander

The acting captain of this vessel - it's worth reminding us all - is himself basically a teenager.

Embryolander

But poor wee Pound is truly just a boy. A little angel who cries.

Scriptlander

I do need to note that apparently every single person who has ever written anything down in Scotland has the exact same handwriting. (Also, wouldn't he have been known as James to anyone who isn't family?)

Snoglander

Marsali and Fergus are doing their level best to prove to us that they have heat. I do wish Fergus was less gently beautiful and more of a sexy rogue.

Ghostlander

"Hi, ma'am. Don't worry or anything but I'm basically starting to die over here? But it's fine."

Twistlander

I mean, considering this guy was basically lit on fire and burned by lead, he looks decent.

Farmlander

"And THAT'S when I taught him about the clitoris, but... sigh, never mind, I guess this is too much detail."

Annikalander

"I don't know what this crazy fool is talking about but she seems nice and I guess REALLY needs to have sex, so ... let's get the goats to land."

Naplander

Did NOBODY notice poor Mr. Pound looking dead as a doornail?

Throwbacklander

What's interesting here, and I can't tell if it was intentional, is that from this exact angle the poor dying boy vaguely resembles the kid they had playing Fergus before the time jump. When he's standing up and talking and stuff, not so much, but here? I feel it. Poor Claire.

Scarflander

Claire is very sad stitching up the shroud, but at least she looks damned stunning in it.

Joylander?

These two are just the picture of elation when Jamie tells them that they can be wed.

Peclander

I'm not sure why they aren't happier. This is the EXACT view I hope for on the day that I am told I can marry a sensitive French man who makes me custom pot pourri.

Pleasantlander

Annika is SO DELIGHTED to announce that they can smell land. GOAT LAND.

Goatlander

"GIRL, STOP DICKING AROUND AND GO. I CAN'T EVEN."

Whoopsielander

"Oh hey guys! I'm the smoothest liar in the universe and yet for some reason I have NOTHING prepared for this highly possible moment."

Ganglander

"It is a good thing you could only possibly have ONE PLAN, so I'll take you back but then leave you be."

PlanBlander

That is a mighty raft indeed, though if Jack couldn't get on the door in Titanic, I don't fancy the bundle's chances.

GULPLANDER

This is the expression on Claire's face the last time we see her. I think that pretty much says it all.

Outlander recap: The Ballad of Mr. Pound
Typhoid cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.
