Seriously, I think the makeup team was desperate to play. This seems heavier to me than Mod Claire's usual.

"... Eureka?!?!?!?"

"OKAY WHY NOT. EUREKA." Marsali is the greatest.

The thing about Roger is, if he were just some doof who tripped and fell through a hole in time, and THEN met Brianna and had a crush on her and had to win her over... it might have worked? I don't know. But Richard and Sophie have ZERO sexual chemistry and it's NOT believable that she ever loved him before. It IS believable that he'd have pined for her and she'd have been like, "See you later, gonna go to the movies with Chet." In summary: I like their bedding but not when they bed down.

I wish they gave Cesar Domboy more to do than just stand there swapping meaningful glances with Jamie. He's so adorable. So loyal. Fergus deserves it all. Like, a storyline.

"Well, they say acting is reacting. You cannot spell one without the other."

"AYE, LADDIE, THAT YE CANNA."

This is Lizzy, pretending not to be DELIGHTED at the sight of Kezzie's naked butt getting injected with penicillin.

And this is Kezzie, hurling up blood.

In this moment, we are all Lizzy.

In THIS moment, we are all Brianna. It doesn't even matter what Roger is saying.

Sophie Skelton is GREAT at seeming unimpressed with Roger. It's my one satisfaction in this storyline.

Poor Knox. The innocent, utter gobsmacked way he looks at Jamie is quite sad. Jamie never seems to get paired up with the really RUTHLESS redcoats, does he?

Sorry, Knoxie. At least you died in Jamie's arms. Many others would have chosen this fate.

This is Mr. Innes, a very sweet-faced, well-intentioned, kindly man who just wants to make Jocasta happy and also have sex a few more times before he meets his maker. Nothing objectionable about him.

And yet Jocasta looks at him with THIS face and it breaks my heart a little. Not even for her. For HIM. Mr. Innes is not blind. Mr. Innes can read both a room and her facial expression. Oh well. Perhaps she will be pleasantly surprised.

"She will not, I suspect, be pleasantly surprised."

I am obligated to show you John Grey's face whenever it is given to me as an option.

I am also required to show you a) Claire's necklaces, and b) how Jamie always appears to be thinking very very hard while he is listening to people. This should make him look shifty but magically never does.

These three -- Mrs. T, Mr. T, and a judge -- all look very fetching. The two men have great coats. Poor Mrs. T might have wanted a little of that sartorial zest.

LOOK at what this dress is doing to that actress's boobs. OUCH. Does Dr. Rawlings have a prescription for crushed glands?

The wedding venue for Jocasta's party is EXTREMELY pretty.

Here, for your gawking joy, is Mr. Wylie. He looks absurd. Proof positive that the French are not always the fashion and style icons of a generation.

BURN SHIT, ROGER. No, seriously. Burn it.

And then these two are so happy to see each other, it actually stabbed me right in my own feelings.

She is unable to contain herself, and tht's WITHOUT even getting a load of that thick white follicular realness.

I hope this isn't their last kiss. Sorry, Duncan Innes. It's not personal. I realize that Murtagh making it out of this alive is a miracle, and likely not going to happen, but A GIRL CAN DREAM.

Jocasta's heaving sobs when Murtagh leaves are just really, really affecting. This woman is a slave owner! I do not approve of this! And yet she's half of a romance I am really rooting for, somehow. This is the power of Murtagh.

If you'd told me Sam was actually drunk during this scene, I'd have believed it. He did a GREAT job distinguishing, largely with his eyes, Jamie's usual hormonal response to Claire with his drunken surprise to find out that her slapping him has given him a boner.

This scene was a cold goddamn bucket of water.

Stephen Bonnet is one well-dressed rat fink, let me tell you.
