Poor kind Adawehi. Tattoo Cardinal is a famous enough actress that at first it feels like a waste to have brought in someone with her reputation just for like three scenes and a handful of lines. BUT, I will say this: She emanates so much caring and goodness and wisdom that you actually ARE super horrified when you find out she was brutally killed. So maybe it was the best hire after all, if sadly not a robust usage of the character (we say hello and goodbye so quickly on this show).

This is a lame screen grab but I just wanted to show you a little of the set design of Chez Fraser. Seriously, look how much they've done in a potentially unrealistic amount of time. Impressive. Maybe the cocaine there is REALLY GOOD.

There's also an intricate stone fireplace in this corner, with a lovely wooden mantel...

And there is ANOTHER one over in the kitchen, presumably for cooking rather than warmth. No wonder this all burns down (although I tend to assume Governor Tryon will have more to do with that, eventually). But also: It just speaks to how much they have built.

Costume logistics! Claire keeps warm with a fur vest over her dress but under her groovy knit wraps.

And also by making out with her super foxy husband.

Ian also apparently did teach Claire to knit. I don't know who exactly taught them to install those heavy paned windows, but they look glorious.

They also have been there long enough to grow a mighty crop of veggies, so that they can fatten up their animals and also presumably not die themselves.

This is the cabin of Herr German and family, also with two chimneys. Just wanted you to know that A LOT OF BUILDING is happening in however long this is.

Claire does spend equal time in a protective stance facing this way, as if to side with the Cherokee, but she doesn't particularly defend them as honorable people to these temperamental German jerks. I wish she had.

AND THEN THIS. I love his silver hair, I love his stern face, I love his SKEPTICISM, and I even kind of love that he's cool with fleecing anyone who's enough of a dink to come in and negotiate that badly. Remember when he would stand around looking sassy in his kilt? Or that time he beheaded Lord Sandringham because he had hired a man to rape Claire (and he then DID rape Mary)? Or when Mildly Annoying Mary got pregnant out of wedlock with Black Jack's brother's baby, and then he died after making Jack promise to marry Mary, and Murtagh offered to marry her instead because he couldn't stomach the thought of her being consigned to a life with Black Jack? Murtagh rules.

"HELLO SIR I SIMPLY CANNOT PAY MUCH OUT OF THIS LARGE BAG OF COINS THAT I HAVE BUT MY UNCLE WILL BE SO MAD AT ME AND I AM DESPERATE BUT DON'T MAYBE USE THAT AGAINST ME OK???"

"Nice try."

"AMERICA IS MEAN!!!"

"BUUUUT I WANT TO GO HOME AND YOU KNOW IT SOOOOOO"

"UMMMM SO THAT THING WHERE I HAD A BAG FULL OF COINS? THAT IS NOT A THING ANYMORE."

"I am going to punch something."

This is Murtagh's dawning realization that the enraged Scotsman behind him is someone he knows. A voice he never thought he'd hear again. And I am SO GLAD this show didn't hold off on this reunion and make us wait another episode or two.

LOOK AT JAMIE'S FACE. The love and the tearing-up eyes. It is so beautiful.

AND THE HUGGING. Jamie actually buries his face in Murtagh's neck. It's like him having a dad again. FEELINGS.

AND THEN MURTAGH. He hugs with all of his facial muscles. All I need now is for John Grey to come back and for Murtagh to fall in love with him. Hang on, brb, gotta fanfic for a second.

"I LIKE YOU NOW THAT I KNOW YOU AND UNCLE JAMIE DID MISCHIEVOUS THINGS IN FRANCE." Oh my God, I just realized Murtagh also knows Fergus. PLEASE let him live long enough to be reunited with Fergus. I need Murtagh to hold baby Dawson.

Have you ever seen a man more delighted at another man's food fortune? Murty seriously looked a little disappointed to think that Jamie had married and moved on from his true love, and when Jamie reveals his current wife IS indeed Claire, and that she's HERE, Murtagh cannot control himself. I love Duncan Lacroix's face so f'ing much.

I CANNOT HANDLE YOU, MURTAGH. In the best way.

I also thought you should see how he looks in his jaunty cap, inciting revolution. It's unclear at the end of the episode whether he's just popping by for a visit, or whether he's giving up his trade in Willem's Creek and bringing it to Fraser's Ridge. I have a nasty feeling it's the former, and that he will continue to foment the regulators and end up becoming dead. Outlander does not like to give me presents.

But THIS entrance was a marvelous cherry on this joyful sundae. Seriously, Murtagh was the only way to mitigate the horrific Claire parts of the hour.

Claire already had heard from Jamie about him, of course, but her delight at seeing him in the flesh was no less strong. Caitriona played it beautifully.

As did Duncan. He looks like he absolutely aches with happiness at being able to see her again. NEVER LEAVE ME, MURTAGH. The silver really suits him, too.

This ENTIRE episode, people were directed to hug each other super hard, and with their faces.

hello i have this bag and hat for my trip for one everyone leaves

Here is Bree's letter. The handwriting -- especially the way the prop person does their Is -- looks very British to me. There is also a missing apostrophe in there somewhere. And it's seriously the least warm letter ever; it's very, "You are the only person I can tell this to," and not at ALL, "My loins burn for and will until the end of time and if I return I shall find you and make you mine." If theirs is meant to be an enduring love affair, you could have fooled me.

well this is some fucking bullshit is what also everyone knows an apostrophe goes there

However, the hair folks really outdid themselves in giving her Claire's same updo, curls and all. She's all set to go back to Scotland. WHAT WILL JENNY/A REPLACEMENT FOR JENNY SAY?!?!?
