So much attention is paid to what people wear on the biggest stages, but I often wonder which outfits are the ones the celebs remember, and if they harbor affection for some of the ones most people don't remember. Big dots! Small dots! Great shoulders! ## 2015: Reese in Michael Kors ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_4351492n-1609830895.jpg) Reese is one of the masters of the cocktail dress. ## 2015: Ava DuVernay ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_9085161x-1609830925.jpg) Ava is always fantastic. She's a great example of someone who tends to stick to the same silhouettes -- at least, so my memory tells me -- and yet the colors provide enough variety, and the fit is good enough, that I always feel happy and satisfied. ## 2015: Ava DuVernay ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_9082599p-1609830912.jpg) I love it. I LOVE IT, AVA. Her hair volumizer was turned up to 12 that day, apparently. ## 2011: Jennifer Lawrence ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_1267726bg-1609830784.jpg) Okay, I lied, they're not all from 2014 and 2015\. Apparently I grabbed this one of Jennifer Lawrence from Olden Times, back in the "Winter's Bone" era. She was a baby celebrity -- no one had really heard of her -- and when you consider that, this is pretty damn good. I would have lost the belt, though., ## 2012: Emily Blunt ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_1530301f-1609830801.jpg) Emily was promoting Salmon Fishing In The Yemen, which is supposed to be a great movie, but could not have picked a title that made me LESS psyched to ever try it out. I do not like salmon. I do not like fishing. I have no beef with Yemen but two strikes was enough. But the dress, the shoes, and the lipstick are aces. ## 2011: Natalie Portman ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_1267726g-1609830793.jpg) This feels like something a person used to prove an unnecessary point: that, yes, technically you CAN take a blouse and a skirt and turn them into a dress. ## 2012: Intern George and Stacy Keibler ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_1530499ag-1609830808.jpg) I often forget these two dated. She was on his arm for the awards run of The Descendants. If it isn't lined, it's one of the rare instances where that succeeds. ## 2014: Sandra Bullock in Alex Perry ![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2021/01/shutterstock_editorial_3473848aa-1609830826.jpg) And now we're teetering. I think it even wants to be darling. But it's just so... half-baked.
