*Beau Is Afraid* is the latest from Ari Aster, whose freaky *Midsommer* was a big engine driving Florence Pugh's ascent. [Deadline's review describes a WHOLE lot of the plot](https://deadline.com/2023/04/beau-is-afraid-review-joaquin-phoenix-ari-aster-1235321342/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and yet I sense that there's so much more it isn't telling us? Anyway, if Beau is afraid in Ari Aster's hands, then I am probably going to be downright terrified. At least Parker is bringing some sunshine here.
