'Party Down' TV series season 3 premiere, Los Angeles, California, USA - 22 Feb 2023

I guess this isn't BASIC black, per se; there's some zing to it. I think she looks very cool, but... the SPECS. They don't flatter her face, and from a distance I keep thinking they broke and she fixed them with a Band-Aid.

Kristen Bell

I like Kristen with the darker hair. I don't know how I feel about the outfit, exactly, but I think... I might wish for a sleeker pant.

Jennifer Garner and Kristen Bell

They clearly got the same memo. I'm giving the nod to Jennifer's ensemble.

Zoe Chao

I can't decide if I like this, or if this would be cuter as the back. Or... both.

Jane Lynch

Everything is in order here.

James Marsden

He's giving some Zoolander here. Also, ALL THIS BLACK against a black carpet, AAAAH. For a show about parties, somebody should have planned this one better.

Tyrel Jackson Williams

Finally, some snazz!

Ryan Hansen

I enjoy that Ryan Hansen wore black only a LITTLE bit. This might have worked better with pants and a jacket that matched, but it's a nice break from everyone else's monochrome.

Joe Lo Truglio and Beth Dover

Every so often, you grab a thumbnail, license the pic, and realize when you see the big version that it's blurry. Today is one such day. I like Beth's shoes.

Martin Starr, Zoe Chao, Jennifer Garner, Ryan Hansen, Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally, Ken Marino, Tyrel Jackson Williams and James Marsden

Here is the crew, telling a color story about the absence of color.

Kate Flannery

Kate's just here to referee in case anything red tries to creep into the scene and start a fight.

Basic Black Was the Play at Party Down's Premiere

For some reason.
