This is actually fine, too, but it's totally the appetizer before the entree.

I've never heard of this line, but I LOVE THIS. It's exactly in Kat's wheelhouse and it feels totally, totally new, even though she did not invent neon. I am here for it, fully.

This is beautiful, too. I'm surprised she didn't swap them, but career-wise there are always going to be more power players at the Vanity Fair party looking for their next muse -- I mean that honestly; it's WAY BETTER networking -- so I get her wanting to pop there. And I cannot resist it, even though both are great. **Winner for me:** Vanity Fair

Great color, great glitter, great lip. But the cut of this dress seems a little boxy on her, no?

Hmm. This one has the look of texture, and a funky lapel situation, but it might not be as flattering either. Still, if neither is perfect... I might go with this one, which seems more coherently stylized than the first.

This is gorgeous. Might've done a slim necklace, and imagine if it were blue and gold the whole way down. (I'm sure that's not cost-efficient.) But it's so ornate.

I couldn't find a dress credit on it, but... honestly, maybe no one should take credit. (It has the look of a [Charbel Zoe](https://www.instagram.com/charbelzoecouture/?hl=en&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).) Also this wasn't the VF party; this was a Weinstein bash. She totally saved the worst for Harvey. **Winner for me:** Elton

This evokes Hilary Swank's famous high-front, deep-back blue Guy Laroche from when she won for *Million Dollar Baby*. But not as good. BUT, it's not Matador Bride, so...

MORE R&R. First, Alessandra wore one whose bodice looks like a total throwback to the old Second Skin Satin bras, except those at least fit.

Whereas THIS one is better cut, but let's say the DJ is really awful and puts on Creed's "With Arms Wide Open." What if she does as she's told? Will she garrote herself?

**Winner for me:** Can I pick neither? If PRESSED I guess I'll go with Elton. There is no good reason why the bodice on the red dress isn't better.

This is a charming picture, and she's giving this a chance at life, but one thing I've learned from 10 years of Fashion Week is that Tracee Ellis Ross is EXPRESSIVE. And fun. And you cannot guarantee she won't boogie, or twirl. If she does that in this dress, it's an instant pelvic peek.

She often wears stuff like, if not identical to, [what Beyonce has already done](../../photos/beyonces-epic-grammy-performance/the-59th-grammy-awards-press-room-2). This is teetering over that line again, if not full-on swerving into its lane.

I really, really wish she hadn't stood like this in all the photos our service had of her. It's janking up the line of the dress.

However, this one is too much like a clearance rack version of other more famous stuff. I don't know. I prefer simple on her. **Winner for me:** Vanity Fair

Oy. She didn't go to Elton's party, but she did sing on the telecast, and BOTH her Main Event dresses were better than this one. Which, honestly, is right and proper. I'd go big for the ceremony too.
