Pippa Middleton Gets Married in Giles Deacon

SIGH. I just love weddings. And I really do love this dress. I was a little unsure about how high the neck went, but I've sat with it and it turns out I love it. (It reminds me of a short-sleeved version of Nicky Hilton's wedding gown, which I also loved.)

An excellent look at the back of Pippa's dress, and, of course a favor re-paid. I love how SERIOUSLY Kate appears to be taking this duty. (It is, in fairness, a very serious task.) (We'll get to Kate's ensemble in a moment. CANNOT THE BRIDE HAVE ONE DAY?)

Look at these unruly noodles! I enjoy how seriously George seems to be taking his task of Flower Strewning. (I also wonder how many of these children had HUGE TANTRUMS about having to put on tights this morning.) I also feel like I've never seem Pippa Middleton look so happy in her entire life, which truly is as it should be.

This is a fairly good shot of Pippa's bouquet, which reminds me (in color and in scale) of Kate's, although I actually like it better than Kate's. This whole look is sort of...Kate-adjacent, in a way where it feels related to Kate's dress but not at all like a copy. The two dresses are not really similar at all, they just look believeably...part of the same family, is what I was going to type. Well. That does seem apt! Anyway, I think it's lovely, and this seems like it was honestly a really beautiful wedding. Won't one of you get married so I can go to a wedding?

And on to the wrangling, of which there appeared to be much, and which seems like it was Kate's main job. Charlotte seems...emotionally neutral on this entire event.

Whilst George seems VERY DOUBTFUL about the wisdom of ANY OF THIS.  As far as Kate goes, although she's obviously not an official bridesmaid or matron of honor, the color of this dress was obviously chosen to coordinate with the children (it's the same color as the sash on the little girls). I cannot say I like it, exactly? She looks like a smart matron bravely shouldering on in the aftermath of WWII, and who has used all her clothing rations on this one dress so it needs to be practical. That said: Who amongst us are passionately in love with outfits we've been assigned to wear to weddings? And this is VERY much not going to draw focus from her sister, which is as it should be. I'm frankly more interested in what she's going to wear to the reception tonight. I hope we get pics!

This truly had to have been like herding cats. And I say that as a person who likes children and gets along with them, and who would totally be in the running to be the Kid Herder should one of my friends have a Very British Wedding with all child attendents. I hope just Wills has a thermos of mimosas waiting in the car.

The Mother of the Bride looks very understated and simple (and chic!) in pink. Marshmallow Baron James Middleton continues to look as if he might secretly be a member of the British Royal Family.

Donna Air And Some Other Person

It seems that "no ring, no bring" was not entirely accurate, as James's long-term lady love Donna Air was in attendence. (I read somewhere, and agree, that the guest list for this wedding was probably made before Harry and Meghan were, like, SERIOUS SERIOUS; Donna and James have been dating for yonks.)  She looks VERY pretty and understated. I feel like every human at this wedding was like, "self, do NOT upstage the bride."

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

Eugenie looks lovely, I think -- and her shoes and metallic clutch are FANTASTIC. I also like the idea that she and Pips secretly bonded during Wills and Kate's wedding, but that Beatrice is at home right now eating a giant bag of Doritos and binge-watching Kimmy Schmidt. (Beatrice's ex-boyfriend, who she was with for YEARS, just got engaged, and they've only been broken up for like six months. She CANNOT be happy about any of this.)

Roger and Mirka

You know Wills and Kate are going to corner Roger over by the open bar and just yak his ear off about Wimbledon. I hope they all get wasted and drunk dial Serena Williams to extend their super emotional congratulations on her pregnancy.

Spencer Matthews

Behold Spencer Matthews, Pippa's new brother-in-law, reality TV star, ladies man, man's man, man about town. I feel like he will get super drunk and buttonhole Harry at the reception to ask him all kinds of admiring questions about the time Harry got naked wasted in Vegas.
