This hair/veil situation is EXTREMELY Of Its Time and it apparently also made it difficult for her to get into the car to go to the ceremony.

They truly both look like little baby children here. (She just turned 50; [here they are with all their kids celebrating the milestone](https://queenraniastyle.blogspot.com/2020/08/happy-50th-birthday-to-her-majesty.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).)

Prince Abdallah ascended the throne on the death of his father King Hussein 07 February 1999\. His wife was officially designated Queen Rania 21 March 1999, at the end of the palace's three-month mourning period. (Photo credit should read RABIH MOGHRABI/AFP via Getty Images)

Although it's quite shiny, I actually quite like this dress, and is a worthy addition to the Royal Wedding Dresses With Giant Collars file, along with [Queen Mathilde](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royal-wedding-rewind-prince-philippe-of-belgium-and-mathilde-dudekem-dacoz-05-2020/) and [Queen Letizia](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royal-wedding-rewind-then-prince-felipe-and-letizia-ortiz-04-2020/).

Something about Rania's bouquet sort of makes it look like she's holding one of the venue's floral arrangements. Here, the bride and groom are pictured with King Hussein and Queen Noor (who is not Abdullah's mother, but [who is also a very interesting woman in her own right](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen%5FNoor%5Fof%5FJordan?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io)).

At least in a convertible, you don't have to worry about fitting your headdress into the car!

My sources seem to think that this was a whole different dress for the reception, but to me it almost just looks like Rania took off the coat portion of her wedding gown; looking at it closely, though, you can tell in the previous photo that her ceremony dress has more of a rounded neckline, and this is a vee-shape. It's dreamy; and her gold hair adornments are VERY 1993.

Here, Informative Caption tells us, "Julie Watson puts the finishing touches to the wedding dress worn by Queen Rania of Jordan, one of more than 30 items made by leading British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield, going on show to mark his 50th birthday. The dresses, worn by some of the world's most glamorous women, are part of an exhibition at the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle upon Tyne tracing Oldfield's life story and fashion career. " I bet that exhibit was fun! (It was in 2000.) And as we all know, if your wedding gown doesn't go on display, did you even actually get married?
