I just really liked this shot -- it's also a good look at the back of Kate's dress, which is like the one McQueen of hers for which I do not fall into a paroxysm of joy. I do LOVE the back, though.

The Queen's Garden Party

That is A LOT OF PEOPLE inching closer and closer and closer to talk to you or perhaps try to touch you. I would feel....slightly claustrophobic at this event. I DO think that Kate's ensemble makes her easy to see in the crowd, though.

And I will note that while this is not my favorite of Kate's dresses, and I am -- as you know -- a fan of patterns in general, I do think she looks like an elegant creamsicle up against Bea and Euj, who both look like WACKY AUNTIES back here, especially standing next to each other. I appreciate their joie de vivre but that is a LOT going on. (Click here to see this photo in a larger size.) They perhaps need to spend the entire day with a more sedately-garbed human situated between them, for maximum impact.

This is the first time Wills and Kate have attended a garden party together. You KNOW the people who went last week are like, "dammit, I missed Kate and Wills?1?!?!!?! Okay, sure, fine, it's still an honor, blah blah blah whatever." If Kate's outfit looks familiar, it's because she wore it when Prince George made his imperious debut at his christening; if Wills's outfit looks familiar, it's because you have a top hat fetish and you've seen it on him in your dreams.
