I want BOTH of these coats, AND Chirlane's shoes. Dammit, you guys. This is so bad for my bank account.
I love the detailing on Kate's coat (it's by GOAT again), and the photo before this was hilarious. I didn't pick it because you couldn't see either of their coats as well, but their body language was OBVIOUSLY, "Aren't you SO COLD RIGHT NOW ME TOO I WISH WE WEAR WEARING HATS."
PS: Nanette Lepore just emailed us (well, not JUST us. The global "us") that Chirlane's coat is theirs. So far this trip is all about purple coats.)
I somehow downloaded way more pics of Kate greeting the kids who were waiting outside than I intended to, but they're just so cute. I love that dude in the monster cap who is like, "I seriously could not care less about this," while the kid in the red pants is dying.
The cuffs on this coat are good, too.
I want to squeeze all these bundled up children in their hats. (The Mirror reports -- in a good piece about the events of the morning -- that there was some confusion from the kids about the identity of their guest, and they may have thought that she was Elsa from Frozen. I mean, you tell a four year that a princess [close enough] is coming to visit, THAT IS a natural assumption.)
Whatever Chirlane McCray was wearing under her fab coat ALSO seems good. It amuses me how serious everyone looks here. Gift-wrapping IS serious business, though. I take it very seriously myself.
Oh, Kate. Never let a small child wrap your gifts, regardless of how cute they are. They will always overuse the tape.
Meanwhile, William is in DC. I present...a play in one act:
WILLS: I feel like NO ONE ELSE UNDERSTANDS how comfy Dad Jeans are.
PRESIDENT OBAMA: I know, right? Michelle keeps throwing mine out and I keep sneaking them back in the house.
WILLS: I might wear mine to the Nets game tonight!
OBAMA: The internet is not going to like that. I'm just letting you know that right now.
After meeting Obama, Informative Caption tells me that Wills attended the "Biennial Meeting of the International Corruption Hunters Alliance (ICHA)," where he gave a speech about preventing wildlife crime. This picture is very, "I am UNSURE about this fashion risk I am taking with this red tie, but here goes nothing."
Don't worry: Suit jackets were buttoned and unbuttoned in a serious manner, so not everything is topsy-turvy. (That said, he looks SO CHIPPER in basically every other photo from this set. They must be having a good time. They're so cheery and canoodle-y.)
See you at the basketball game! KISS CAM! KISS CAM!
