# Princess Beatrice Went Vintage For Her Wedding

On Friday, [Princess Beatrice married her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in a tiny wedding in Windsor](https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a33346848/princess-beatrice-edoardo-mapelli-mozzi-secret-wedding-windsor-details/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and we got photos over the weekend. [Town and Country has a lot of details on the ceremony itself](https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a33355678/princess-beatrice-wedding-ceremony-details/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). This entire endeavor looks like it was quite lovely and very romantic, and the details were -- like the wedding itself! -- a surprise: [Bea wore an old Norman Hartnell dress of the Queen's](https://www.townandcountrymag.com/style/fashion-trends/a33352749/princess-beatrice-wedding-dress-photos/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) (that she'd slightly altered, adding sleeves and lengthening it a bit, and pairing it with a less voluminous crinoline), as well as the Queen Mary Diamond fringe tiara [that the Queen wore at her own wedding](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royal-wedding-rewind-then-princess-elizabeth-and-lieutenant-philip-mountbatten-04-2020/), and [Princess Anne at her first one](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royal-wedding-rewind-princess-anne-gets-married-twice-04-2020/). Honestly, I think this is a stroke of brilliance on multiple levels: (a) Bea looks fantastic, (b) it's sentimental to wear a gown of one's grandmother, even if she's not the Queen, (c) a vintage option from a family member is both sustainable and financially reasonable, which is always adept but especially in a pandemic when everyone is feeling the pinch.
