This photo is very dramatic -- rather like a film still -- and I can tell why they chose it. I sort of wish Eugenie's eyes were properly closed, but as a snap, it's very romantic. (I like to think that the footman back there saw this photo just now and was like, "BLIMEY! There I am!" I guess in my imagination all the footman talk like Eliza Doolittle's father.)

This official wedding photograph released by the Royal Communications of Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank, shows - Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at the Royal Lodge, Windsor, ahead of the private evening dinner, following their Wedding. Princess Eugenie's evening dress was designed by Zac Posen. Mr Posen was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the surrounding countryside. The choice of colour reflects the blush of an English rose. Mr Posen took his inspiration from the White Rose of York.

And here's the bride's reception gown! It's a Zac Posen, and Informative Caption was actually QUITE informative about it. Ahem: "Princess Eugenie's evening dress was designed by Zac Posen. Mr Posen was inspired by the beauty of Windsor and the surrounding countryside. The choice of colour reflects the blush of an English rose. Mr Posen took his inspiration from the White Rose of York." (a) If you enlarge the pic, you can see a guest in the background taking a selfie, which really makes me laugh. (b) Insert your own favorite War of the Roses joke here -- I KNOW you've got one. (c) Euj looks really lovely! Something around the bodice/neckline reminds me of the breastplate you see on Scarlett Johansson when she's in costume as Black Widow and I can't decide if that's accurate or if I'm just insane. (It might be the way it's sort of tacked under the bosom? And apparently I say "bosom" now.) The skirt is so romantic, though. (d) I love that rug. (e) I'm very interested in the wall paneling behind them. I'm so nosy about what people do to their walls!

Jack looks DELIGHTED! This is in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle -- the previous pic was at the Royal Lodge, where the Yorks live -- and I feel like it's highly likely Kate was lurking around behind the photographer directing Prince George to say "cheese." There is nothing funnier to me than an attempt to get a bunch of little kids to all smile at the camera at the same time. ALWAYS at least twenty percent of them will be looking at you like they're REALLY OVER IT. And that is part of the charm. This photo does further my hypothesis that Savannah Philipps (the taller blonde in front of George) is a fun, take-charge kind of cousin who will keep everyone in line with games; finally, Princess Charlotte and her little crossed ankles back there is terribly cute.

George's face here, on the other hand, is like WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE BEHIND ME? EXCUSE ME BUT I DO NOT KNOW THEM! Calm down, Georgie, they look like very nice folks. And I must admit, after all these years of gossip that Philip hates Fergie, it IS nice to see them right next to each other; even if he does hate her, a show of family unity is a nice thing to do for Eugenie. See you all next time when Fergie and Andy make it legal again!
