Obviously, we must begin with The Queen. There IS a pecking order, after all. I don't love this icy blue and beige combo (not that we can see much of the dress itself); I prefer the Queen in stronger colors, which is her M.O. to stand out for onlookers who've come from afar ("She has to be seen to be believed," is the classic line about why she does that). But: Everyone else went so heavily into autumnal jewel tones that I bet the Queen chose this so that she WOULD still stand out, by being the only one NOT in a bright color.

If your wedding bingo card said "Philip blows this off and puts out a statement that he's at home with the flu but wishing them well," then you lost. Good for him for getting there even if he DOES secretly hate Fergie -- honestly, proximity is much better when you want to needle your foes, anyway -- and I was impressed at how well he moved. It only had to be a few feet, but goodness, this man is a marvel. His health's been poor for how long? And he's still gliding into weddings at 98.

Fergie in that emerald color is really spectacular (we'll get to the hat), but I have to say, I think overall she looked better at Harry and Meghan's wedding. Partly because of THE HAT, which we'll get to later. But the piece in the back of this dress flapping about just looked very random.

See? Although of course, the wind was unkind on this day. Still. I'm also not sure the dress took as well to the car ride (she also may have been rushed, as her car arrived about ten minutes later than it was scheduled to). Oh, but we should note the clutch: Apparently, it's a vintage Blahnik bag that Fergie's mother carried at Fergie's own wedding.

See what I mean? The back piece could have been thought out a bit more. Also, in this shot you can see that Bea has gone all in on Kate's headband love (although lest you credit Kate entirely, remember Bea did wear a headbasket of some ilk to the H&M wedding). Somewhere, John Legend just sat bolt upright in bed and started crooning, "HEADBANDDDD of the DAYYYYY."

Bea's dress is a gorgeous hue, and she looks great it it, but it's very... well, it's sensible. Nothing WRONG with that, but style-wise it's a bit more Kate and a bit less... well, Bea, or even Eugenie. She was probably under a huge amount of pressure to get it poshly right. For HER sake I wish she could've had something a bit more fun, but she'll never get to wear this again, and therefore it's probably nice that she has something she looks good in but that she also won't WISH she could wear again. If that makes sense. The ice blue accessories were a bit jarring but the purse contextualizes the shoes. It's the headband I question...

... because why is it mostly purple?!? You can only see in VERY SPECIFIC SHOTS that there is some matching blue down by her ears. Otherwise, all you see is the purple, which looks wacky and actually makes the shoes seem like a weirder choice than if the whole thing had been royal blue. It needed the dark blue threaded in up top as well, perhaps? I joked to Jessica that maybe Bea THOUGHT it matched until the very second she set it on her head, and then she SCREAMED.

"Yes, yes, I made it. Just texting Millz from the car to tell her she missed a ripping breeze and she wrote WHO DIS and I can't tell if she's joking."

Anne's dress is super, and Tim looks very jolly. (I've heard from someone who has met him that he's DELIGHTFUL.) Y'all know what a sucker I am for all these greens, and so I'm thrilled at that. The black gloves are dramatic, and perfect for examining ac crime scene without leaving fingerprints, though the camel wrap is a little discordant and may have been a late addition to counter the wind. Anne doesn't have time for such trifles, anyway. There's mischief afoot; vile deeds to sniff out.

"This is an ILL WIND that blows MURDER."

More green and blue. "Autumnal" was the buzzword about the flowers and decor, and clearly everyone took that to mean rich colors. No complaints.

That's a better look at Zara's hat; she went with a similar color combo to Bea, except without the asinine purple. (I can't wait until that turns out to have had deeply personal meaning and I just totally dumped all over it.) I love Zara's dramatic lid. She's here talking to poor Lady Louise, who had to wrangle all the kidlets...

... which left her almost no ability to wrangle HERSELF in the wind.

Sophie looks lovely, and as if she's going to wake up tomorrow and read ten stories all about how she was clearly inspired by Meghan Markle's navy Dior from the RAF centennary. (For the record, I don't believe that and don't even think they're similar; I just think people who want an excuse to put Meghan in their stories will do it.)

Oh, Ferg. That hat is insane -- it looks like the wings little kids get from airplane pilots -- and when she bent her head in the church, one of the commentators was like, that is EXACTLY what I hoped for from you today.
