Diana Rigg was indelible in *The Avengers*, and chilling in Game of Thrones, and brilliant in everything. But I first loved her in *The Great Muppet Caper* as Lady Holiday, followed by her role as Miss Hardbroom in the first *Worst Witch* adaptation (which also starred Fairuza Balk, Tim Curry, Charlotte Rae). She was haughty, divine brilliance, and as Mrs. Emma Peel, she was fiercely intelligent and fabulous -- and I felt like that was all worth celebrating today. Why am I telling you this? In the words of Lady Holiday herself, "It's plot exposition. It has to go *somewhere*."
