# Royally Played: The Duchess of Cambridge in Catherine Walker at the Irish Guards St. Patrick's Day Parade

Last year, [Duchess Kate recycled a frugal Hobbs coat for this event](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/well-played-kate-middleton-in-hobbs-and-gina-foster-and-prince-william-in-his-dress-uniform-at-the-irish-guards-st-patricks-day-parade-03-2014/), having been fresh off a seemingly frivolous trip to the Maldives that had raised some eyebrows. Today she wore something new -- a bespoke Catherine Walker -- for the St. Patrick's Day parade at Mons Barracks, and while I understand one can't always indulge the temptation to wear green on that kind of occasion, I do prefer the 2014 model to this muddy brown look. That at least felt like a taste of spring. Still, it's not an unattractive cut, and Wills wore the Irish Guards uniform, which is always a treat. Let's dive in and discuss.
