This gown shouldn't have happened to her. It's SO DOWDY. The fabric already veers a little toward Festive Wine Bag, but worked with more care and subtlety, it could've been cute on her. Instead, it's Barbra Streisand Sells Out Two Nights Only In Chicago.
I just wish it weren't a sports bra. I mean, I'd be happy with owning that sports bra, but it would be between me and my t-shirt.
This is a little busy, but I'm KIND OF uncomfortable with what and how much might be revealing itself under that skirt. She's carrying it with authority, but I just... she's a porcelain doll; I'm never going to be ready for any Bits On Display, frankly.
This, which she wore to arrive at the same Letterman taping, is TOTALLY the other side of her coin. I totally get why she changed -- this is a day dress, not a nighttime talk show joint -- and it's MOSTLY okay, except that something in the top isn't working for me. However, if she'd worn this while still platinum blonde, it wouldn't have worked. She needs the dark hair to carry it without it washing her out. So, her timing is a plus.
I can't turn down a close-up of shoes. I just can't.
I kind of like the matte leather of these fire-engine red shoes. It's very '80s, but in a fun way, not a cringey way.
Young skin, man. Young skin. I wish I'd appreciated mine.
