Chastain is in Italy with her boyfriend here for something called the "Ischia Global Film and Music Fest," which is naming her actress of the year. I feel like this is one of those things where you think, "why, yes. I will go to Italy for your film festival and tie a scarf on my head and tootle about on boats looking glamorous. CHALLENGE AND AWARD ACCEPTED."

Her boyfriend is the melodically monikered Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo and the internet has not informed me what he does for a living. I've decided he's the heir to a aperitif fortune and also that this dress would be 78% cuter if it were a mini.

THIS big hat is even better. (I'm not wildly in love with the pants. They look smart here, but in a few other shots from this outing, they looked a bit like Gap's Everybody In Khakis campaign awoke from a deep slumber, full of rage. But I like the whole IDEA here.)

Sunglasses and hat at night in Los Angeles to me means that she is trying to travel low-profile. THAT SAID, nothing is HIGHER PROFILE-looking than a giant sunhat and sunglasses at night. You might as well also sit behind a potted plant and pretend to read a newspaper with a giant hole cut out of it. (Cute jeans, though.)
