This dress is glorious. It's like.... extremely beautiful continental drift. Whenever I look at the large version, it looks sort of like a bunch of land masses floating around in a gilded sea. (You guys, I'm real tired.)

See what I mean, though? Maybe? ... MAYBE?

I didn't ever see a credit on this dress, which is too bad. It's REALLY cute.

That is a fantastic color in her, and the earrings are great... Originally I thought this cover was a little chilly, but the longer I look at it, the more I see the warmth and strength. For InStyle, anyway, which is a magazine that thrives on chilly remove.

Speaking of warmth, this is also totally lovely.

This event sounds cool -- they had 70,000 applicants this year, for a program she and the President started that's designed to foster interest in poetry and the arts and self-expression. The idea being that art helps kids work through their emotions, which I believe of adults as well. She quoted Q-Tip, who said, "The world is kinda cold and the rhythm is my blanket." I am on board.
I also like the dress, but might have liked it BETTER if it had no sleeves.

I don't particularly like this at ALL. The shoes.... are they brown? If so, they don't really have any relevance here. I like the green and the floral, though, and COULD like them together if they were cut in ANY kind of way that would flatter her.

I like that these two are apparently friendly. I ALSO think they both look lovely, although Michelle's shoes are a distracting yellowed-white. I'd have gone another direction. But that floral is divine.

I don't mind this too much, but when you see it in actual motion, the sequins along the neckline look REALLY costumey.

FLOTUS was on Stephen Colbert's show last night, and she was very engaging, as per usual. Her head looked great. But, reader, that's pants.

REALLY REALLY high-waisted and wide-legged pants. Between this and the Gucci that had a belt practically up in her armpits, someone has clearly decreed that she is not allowed to have a waist that's more than two inches below her chest.

They are really not a flattering garment on her. At all. I can't figure out the strategy here. Watching her walk out, I actually yelped. And the PLEATS. To use a phrase Fug Nation suggested we widely apply to things that are whoa: THE PATTERN IS BABIES.

But I would very much like to pull up a sleeping bag and a snack plate.
