Lupita Nyong'o: Vogue, Oct 2016

Stunning. I particularly think it's genius to put the word LOVE that big, because you can't possibly look at this and not think, "OMG I LOVE THIS." It's beautifully lit, it's poignant, it's got depth, it's got color, it's got texture. It's the kind of thing that makes you realize why Mario Testino gets paid the big bucks.

I want to like this so badly, but they shouldn't have let her sit down in it for like 20 minutes before walking out here. The colors are good, but... that bodice also just doesn't work for me, OR for her. It's pinchy.

In my imagination, she's about to break into "The Wind Beneath My Wings." Apt. It WOULD be cold in her shadow.

I like this, but I'm not sure about the skin pyramid. Also, let's all have a moment of silence to contemplate Ava DuVernay's handbag, and her and Gugu Mbatha-Raw's general fabulousness. This entire photo is, in fact, smoking hot.

Okay, but that dress reminds me of the opening credits of Mannequin. And while I am always open to more Mannequin in my life, I don't usually look for it across people's chests.

Recent Well Playeds: Lupita Nyong'o
Somewhere along the line, we never covered Lupita's Vogue cover -- I think because it happened during Fashion Week and then the Emmys happened, and then our brains melted. But there's also so much more of Lupita to love in here. [Photos: Getty, Vogue/Mario Testino]
