I know his floppy weird styling choices are things people find charming about him, but this is a great swerve. It's more structured, and then he flashes the shorts while looking straight to camera, like, "Yep, that's right, flashing some leg."

Kylie is not, perhaps, the best model. But she looks really good in this dress. It's a level of sophistication not often seen on her.

No, Kylie, that's just making it worse. Your chin is too low.

Okay, now you're overcompensating, but congrats on getting up the stairs that way without tripping.

And here she is with the robe on. I don't have any intel on how this relates to Lagerfeld at all, but I honestly think it's one of the most interesting things she's worn -- supposedly the cape is a reference to ones Karl designed for Andre Leon Talley over the years -- and I'm all in on it.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade in Prada

Mandatory Credit: Photo by JUSTIN LANE/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock (13894429ec) Gabrielle Union (L) and Dwyane Wade arrive on the red carpet for the 2023 Met Gala, the annual benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, in New York, New York, USA, 01 May 2023. The theme of this year's event is the Met Costume Institute's exhibition, 'Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.' 2023 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA - 01 May 2023

I guess he's doing his Karl thing, and she's... just sort of coordinating? I don't know. I DO like the idea that she's flouting the theme somehow, so maybe I'll decide that's true. Gabrielle Union seems like the type not to have a lot of patience for Karl's nonsense.

This is VERY bombshell on her, and parts are lovely, but does it sit a touch low? SOMETHING about the top isn't quite singing for me. I also don't love the flower, but it's possible that's the only Karl reference. (He loved flowers and used the camellia as a recurring motif.)

I may need a leaflet on how this one fits the theme, too.

This, despite its color, is not really lighting my fire. I liked it better when I thought it had a random black piece on the train, but that actually belongs to Anok Yai behind her.

Allison is another one who busted out the headband. This does feel like a film costume from another era.

I feel like I haven't LOVED her stuff lately, so I'm pleased that this is so cool on her.

It's Chanel, so I guess it fits the brief! People were surprised more of the original supers didn't come -- and yeah, people are out here remaking Cindy Crawford dresses, but Cindy isn't there, Claudia Schiffer isn't there... no Christy... maybe in the end there wasn't a relationship there, either?
