Until we get the Regina King spy movie my heart craves, I will have to satisfy myself with this experience. As garments go, it's not great, but look at the panache she's giving it. Lots of trust here that she could make the overall aesthetic sing, and truly, she does.

This sleeve situation is a new one for her. I don't know if I like it, per se -- much like Regina's outfit, actually -- but it's a fun change for her, and my goodness, she looks amazing in the dress itself. Also... is it just me, or is Ava's posture impeccable?

Everything here looks as you expect -- that's a VERY Ava DuVernay silhouette, underscoring how sexy the LBD is on the other slide in a way that I don't THINK we see that often on her -- and Regina basically went for sensible. Why? Because she has to bend over in front of a bunch of cameras.

Actually, the top is almost NOT sensible in that regard, just because it's sliding a little lower than she probably expected? But when you have to curl up on a carpet and write in wet cement, a pantsuit is definitely the practical choice. And one you might not care if you ever see again, just in case you get cement all over it.

This was my favorite photo, back when I saw the thumbnail and hoped she was sipping wine out of a gigantic glass. In reality she's holding her face shield. Props to the first person who invents a wine glass that does double as a face shield.
