All I know is, this quote Rick Owens [gave to WWD](https://wwd.com/runway/mens-fall-2023/paris/rick-owens/review/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) about his collections is my favorite thing a designer has said of themselves in a while:

> *“I don’t know anybody who is going to be able to tell the difference between this somberness and my usual somberness,” he said with a chuckle backstage.*

That review peddles gets mired in some cancel culture commentary, [so I jumped over to Hypebeast](https://hypebeast.com/2023/1/rick-owens-luxor-fall-winter-2023-mens-collection-runway-paris-fashion-week?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), which informed me that this is in the show notes: "REDUCED ARCHITECTURAL SHAPES WITH A WHIFF OF SLEAZY SEVENTIES PSEUDO-MYSTICISM." Okay, sure! It DOES sort of remind of if Moschino did a Bjork collection? We know Gwen Christie and Billy Porter and Rihanna will wear it all no matter what.
