I mean, can anyone wear a giant clown ruff? Doubtful, but boy, is it a cool photo.

Also, Kirsten is giving me faith in her ruff-related abilities.

Miss Tyra would say that Gabrielle is serving softness and edge all at once, which is not easy to do.

This pose has wonderful shape to it.

This one isn't as arresting, but the outfit also isn't as theatrical, so maybe she over-softened.

Some of these are better in close-up than in the long shot. For example, Lili looks like she's falling asleep in this one...

... but here, she's delivering perfect wide-eyed ingenue stuff.

Admittedly, I do not know WHAT is happening here. Was the floor slippery?

I could see Margaret wearing that to an actual premiere, except for how she's already done it here and that might be weird. But as with Lili's, this one is a little TOO lifeless...

... as is this one...

... but the close-up is better. Very flirty.

So striking.

And I LOVE this shot. It's zany in the BEST way.

Betty Draper is Not Having Your Nonsense.

Whereas Sally Draper, by day, is wearing sweet cotillion-style gowns at her mother's behest...

"Don't touch my angel child or else you will go through me," Betty is saying, possessively. She knows garbage men and she will not stand for one here.

But Sally has a secret. What her mother doesn't know is that while she does indeed go through the motions at times...

... and by night, she steals Betty's old gowns and goes out dancing at supper clubs. TAKE THAT, BETTY.

Rowan goes with her. But Rowan might be part faerie and so she doesn't really HAVE parents who ground her.

Don't worry, though, she has to show up at cotillion, too. These two back each other UP.

I will leave the light on for Maggie's boots, that's for damn sure.

Look! A flock of Haims! A Haim chain. A Haim-and-cheese sandwich.

Left got the dramatic '80s shoulders...

... Middle got the angelic version of that jumpsuit...

and Right is working a kind of hipster Daisy Buchanan aesthetic.

I love that they included Yalitza. She was so fun to have on the red carpets last year and was SO poised despite the influx of crazy attention.

We opened with wondering who on earth could wear the ruffs, and honestly, both she and Kiki gave them a whole lot of dignity.

As Jessica noted, I do kind of want that on my piano in a gilded frame.
