I only included this because it makes me laugh. This is TOTALLY going to be the cover of an unauthorized and highly cheesy biography of their relationship called, like, FOR THE LOVE OF A PRINCESS or something, which I look forward to reading on a plane with the dust jacket off. (I was reading an actually quite entertaining William and Harry book as research for The Royal We during Fashion Week and I had to take the cover off of that, even. It wasn't even a bad cover. I just could not brook with being seen in public taking notes in the margins of a book with Prince William on the cover for fear of seeming totally cracked out.)
Even the woman behind her is like, "yeah, that bag is cute." I also like the coat.
Cressida's entire demeanor is like, "well, this is tiresome."
This just coos, "I MIGHT secretly be pregnant. I might just have a jones for high quality sheets. You don't know. Just look at my tiara!"
Whatever is happening to Queen Maxima here, she is MOVED AND TOUCHED. I am touched by her cute skirt (the rest of it, I have notes).
So, this dates from last week BUT I didn't realize until Kristen from MA told us in the comments that DANIEL DAY-LEWIS was at the most recent state dinner and I knew you'd want to see him. (That's also the back of Judi Dench's head, yes? The fact that I can ID that slightly disturbs me).
We've also got the tail end of the Irish President's state visit. Obviously, we see her without a hat now and then but it always makes me feel like she's forgotten something. This picture amuses me. It's very, "HAHAHAHAHAH farewell."
I LOVE her in a pattern, and that REALLY hardly ever happens. This kind of reminds me of this dress of Kate's (William, I swear, just wore that suit this week), as well as her floral Erdem. Maybe Kate agreed to slightly lower hemlines now and then if QE2 agreed to break out a pattern.
This is at a concert by Royal College of Organists. I hope one of them is making a very cheeky "organist" joke, and I am SURE that they are. I wonder if the Queen's hat closet is organized by color. It has to be, right?
Per Getty: "Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh leave Blackburn Cathedral after attending the Royal Maundy Service on April 17." This picture is SO COLORFUL and spring-y.
This is her Dame Commander (DBE) medal, which she got from the Queen at Windsor this week. LET'S ALL HAIL JESSICA FLETCHER. She is a treasure and her hat a delight.
