Meghan Duchess of Sussex attends the closing ceremony at the Qudos Bank Arena
Invictus Games, Closing Ceremony, Sydney, Australia - 27 Oct 2018
This is VERY in keeping with Meghan's style: She loves olive, she loves suits, she loves a sleeveless coat dress. This rolls them all together, and she looks cool and calm and confident. For me PERSONALLY, the halter tuxedo neck is not my thing -- it's very Prom, from a certain era -- but it looks perfectly nice on her, and the fact that the skirt and cut seems a little boring from the waist down can likely be ascribed to the fact she wanted a little extra belly room. Fair enough.

Here, though, is my nit to pick: She gave this speech to a VERY large room full of people, and even with the lighting, I don't think this stands out enough from that backdrop (which had to be known to them, as it's the same as the flag, plus one sponsor logo that actually almost MATCHES her dress). I think THIS would have been a time to borrow from the Queen and wear a bright color so that even the people in the nosebleeds feel like they are getting the biggest eyeful of you.

Yoga shoulders are for real, y'all. Whether or not that cut is my thing, she CERTAINLY has the arms for it. Also, I love the shoes. One of the colorful versions would have been fun, but in general they manage to look both professional and super foxy, and CLEARLY that brand must be comfortable because she goes to Aquazzura time and time again.

Earlier, Harry obviously went with his Invictus shirt, and I think this was a wise choice with that by Meghan. She dressed up just a smidge, but her black trousers play off his logowear, and the Remembrance poppy is a lovely addition to her coat that's as effective as if she were wearing her own polo. They look great together. This whole outfit works on her and is very much kin to her blazer-and-jeans looks, which I liked. That particular top is not my personal jam at all, but for maternity, it's perfect. And reminiscent of what she wore for her sportsy outing in September, and of course we now know she was trying to pile on the layers to hide whatever she thought her stomach was doing (which is probably nothing, but when you're as slender as she is, you probably notice EVERY tiny change and feel huge way before anyone else can tell).

I am glad they didn't hold hands down these stairs. They are NO JOKE and they were fairly long. Girlfriend was right to take the banister.

This may shock you, but get ready: I am never going to win a medal at anything. Given that, I think getting to hand out the medals would be the MOST FUN and I have second-hand excitement for Meghan that she got to do it, and to her natal country's athletes. (The US beat the Netherlands and I assume she was both whispering "USA! USA! USA!" and asking them if they knew of a local place showing the Dodgers game.)

Lovely. Her blush seems to have concentrated on the balls of her cheeks today, and again, it catches the light only very conditionally.

I assume he's protesting a bad foul call, and I also like to imagine that Harry doesn't actually know anything about basketball and so Meghan is sitting there cracking up over all the only slightly accurate things he's saying.
