I must start out this celebration of love and goodness by noting that I have never liked this tiara as taken in a vaccum -- although it looks much better in movement than it does in still photos, and I do appreciate how weird and dramatic it is. But [all the Swedish queen-to-be brides wear this particular tiara](https://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2011/09/wedding-wednesday-bridal-tiara.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) and that tradition is amazing; likewise, [it's incredibly historically significant, dating all the way back to Empress Josephine](https://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2012/03/tiara-thursday-cameo-tiara.html?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), and it is, as a work of art, quite amazing close-up.

CPV's dress was designed by Pär Engsheden, a Swedish designer the Swedes opt for every now and then. It's VERY classic, and I think it will age well.

Please correct me if I have gotten the order of events wrong, but I believe at some point during the the Carriage Ride segment of the post-wedding festivities, they got on the Royal Barge 'Vasaorden' to float around and wave at people.

No one ever pays attention to Liechtenstein, but this dress is legitimately very good. She once had a brain tumor! (She's fine.) He, on the other hand, is a pro-lifer who was going to veto a referendum in Liechtenstein that made abortion legal there, but said referendum did not pass. If you want an abortion and you live in Liechtenstein, you have to go to Switzerland. I have notes, Liechtenstein.

As you'll see on the next slide, Queen Sophia of Spain and then Princess Letizia are VERY coordinated; meanwhile, Queen Beatrix's look feels better suited to a November wedding than a June one.

I always enjoy this tiara on Maxima -- it's just HERE'S A BUNCH OF HUGE DIAMONDS IN A ROW!!! -- but I think she's regretting that dress.

This wedding really brought out some obscure royals from countries that don't technically really recognize them, which I love because it gives me the opportunity for a Wiki Deep Dive. HE has very close ties to the Brits (Her Majesty is his godmother) and was born and raised in the UK, and served in the British army. Apparently, he really would like it if Serbia would re-establish a monarchy!!!! SHE is his second wife and seems reasonable. His first wife is named Princess Dona Maria da Glória Henriqueta Dolores Lúcia Miguela Rafaela Gabriela Gonzaga of Orléans-Braganza, Duchess of Segorbe, Countess of Rivadavia and I need to know more about someone with that long a name. Immediately.

We also don't often see the Romanians at these things. Crown Princess Margarita spent a lot of time in the UK as well -- she went to college in Scotland and was childhood friends with Chaz and Anne, AND she had a five year romance with former British PM Gordon Brown when they were in school (but they broke up because he was too obsessed with politics). HE has [a VERY robust "controversies" section on his Wiki page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince%5FRadu%5Fof%5FRomania?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io#Controversies), which is NEVER a good sign, including one alleging that he INFILTRATED the Romanian royals to spy for Nicolae Ceauşescu'!!!!!! (He denies this.) He's also gotten in trouble over the title he's using and he MIGHT have tried to sell it? Yikes.
