This is one extremely joyful bride. It warms my heart that they seem to be just as crazy about each other now as they were then. May we all find such love in this world.

I must confess that I truly love her gown -- it's Valentino. It's so elegantly sparse. 

And this veil is so gorgeous.

Poor Maxima -- her parents had to skip the wedding due to the fact that her father was part of the Argentine government when it was a pretty bad dictatorship. HE claimed he didn't know the government was disappearing people, but while it has been fairly established that he wasn't INVOLVED in that, people are pretty sure he knew about it. ANYWAY, he didn't come, and her mother didn't want to come without him. This had to have been hard on Maxima.

This seems like a dangerous way to hold a sword.

Chaz

To the guests! This is basically exactly how Chaz looks in my mind, though he is of course now much older-looking.

Sophie and Edward

WHAT is Sophie's HAT? It's HIDEOUS. (We should look back at THEIR wedding.)

Queen Margrethe

It seems very on-brand for her to arrive in a variety of fur. (The wedding was in early February, so it was probably cold.)

Prince Albert

Prince Albert truly looks like a totally different person.

This is sad; Prince Friso here, W-A's younger brother, has since died in an avalanche while skiing off piste. (He also had a bit of a drama with his own wife, who kinda was dating a drug baron previously.)

Excuse me, but now-King Felipe looks about twelve years old here.

Princess Caroline and Prince Ernst August

Caroline looks so much the same and in fact could totally wear this Chanel outfit again, and I think she has; this is, of course, her spouse who she allegedly super-hates but won't divorce because she doesn't want to lose her title. (She's an HRH if they're married and doesn't want to go back to being a plain old Serene Highness. They've been separated since 2009!)

First: Noted crackpot ML's hat here is hideous. Sincerely hideous, not my joke-y hideous that I like to employ at things that are actually stunning. You may recall that he recently died by suicide, which is terribly sad; it seems like he was lovely. They divorced in 2017. 

Nelson Mandela and Graca Machel

Ms Machel looks lovely. Did you know that she was ALSO married to the first President of Mozambique? He died in a plane crash while in office in 1986 (a crash that has a lot of open questions, she apparently thinks he was murdered); she married Mandela in 1998. I feel like she probably has a lot of life stories to tell.

Haakon and Mette Marit

These two had only been married about six months at this point. He looks the same now, but she looks like a totally different person. Apparently she used to look more like Claire Danes.
