This is a room at KP used for all kinds of meetings and whatnot, and it was apparently HuffPo Editorial HQ for the day -- surely because that made security easier for the royals, and because it's better for press photos and therefore PR, but also because OBVIOUSLY if you work at HuffPo and get to do this, you'd rather go work at the palace for the day than shuffle into your usual boring, mangy offices. (I'm sure if it were me, I'd be like, "yes, yes, mental health, v. important, we'll certainly start typing presently, but first let's talk about those MOLDINGS!!!!")
Anyhoodle, Kate looks nice in her I'm Just Going To The Office outfit. I don't LOVE the shirt, but mostly because I have similar-looking one, in green, and mine buttons all the way up the back, and nothing makes a woman feel more single than being confronted with a top that requires SOMEONE to do fifteen tiny buttons all located behind her head. These are not problems Kate faces.

Informative Caption tells me that Kate is talking to "Steven Hull (Editor in Chief Huff Post UK) in the 'News Room' at Kensington Palace," and those quotation marks feel slightly patronizing, Informative Caption. Said caption goes on to tell us, "The Duchess of Cambridge is supporting the launch of the Huffington Post UK's initiative 'Young Minds Matter' by guest editing the Huffington Post UK today."
The best thing about this pic, to me, is that it looks as if the EIC just pitched some BATSHIT CRAZY story -- "what if you tell us all about the Queen's KNICKERS???? It'll go way viral, Kate!" -- and she is slowly boiling over with rage. (Is it possible that, like me, Kate actually has Resting Murder face? Because I was pretty sure that my own inability to listen thoughtfully without looking as if I was considering how best to dispose of the speaker's body was the one thing holding me back from becoming Mrs Prince Harry.)

YAY! RESTING MURDER FACE CAN BE OVERCOME!
Also: I do quite like that skirt. Kate is REALLY in a serious tweed and tweed-adjacent place right now.

As part of today's events, Kate and HuffPo also had schoolchildren come in and file a bunch of stories to the news desk about everything from the recent death of Justice Scalia to the ongoing debate about the EU -- wait, sorry. That's not right. ACTUALLY, these very cute kids got to come over because they're in a video feature Kate helped put together. (In all seriousness, children's mental health is a very good cause and good for her for going all in on it, and these kids are totally adorable and possibly a wee bit cold.)
Special shout-out to the trash bin behind them that no one noticed was in the shot. Kensington Palace Rubbish Bin is the British cousin to the late, lamented Letterman Dumpster, and oh, the stories it could tell us. I'm working on securing us an exclusive.
