You know I cannot resist a photo that involves flags. Flags are very photogenic. Also, from here, this suit is totally reasonable and very...Jackie Kennedy, which is always a safe sartorial reference if you're in public service. I particularly like the vent on the cuff.

"Hey, hi, hello, no, Maxima is off giving the keynote speech at a meeting of giant necklace enthusiasts. She left you a note though. Come on inside!"

This photo makes it look as if someone steamed Kate's skirt between her arrival and this picture, but I think the lighting actually just blew it out to the point where you can't see the wrinkles? Regardless: MOVE OVER EVERYONE, I want to see all the stuff in this room. (They are at Villa Eikenhorst, which is -- if I understand it correctly -- basically Max and Wax's Anmer Hall.)

Anyhoodle, once she and Willem-Alexander got their chitty chat out of the way, Kate was off to meet people and talk to artistic children and look at paintings, as one does if one is Kate. I like the suit. It just is an unforgiving fabric. Live and learn.

Here, Kate "visits the Art Workshop where children were having a painting lesson in the Mauritshuis Gallery," which is very Bex Porter of her. I enjoy how much it looks like this kid is telling her some EXTREMELY juicy gossip.

Behold, the Mauritshuis Gallery! As ever when I write about these trips, I want to go to there. Fun fact: Kate is visiting because the exhibit they're opening even as I type features twenty-two paintings that QE2 lent to them, including Vermeer's The Music Lesson, which usually hangs in Buckingham Palace (and which, actually, plays a small part in The Royal We). This room is GORGEOUS.

I appreciate the symbolism of wearing a pearl earring when you know you're going to get to see Girl with a Pearl Earring. (Kate has an art history degree, so she probably extra-enjoys getting to see this.)

Next, Kate popped by a robotics workshop and it looks FUN.

I do not know what's even happening here, but I feel comfortable saying that this girl is all of us.

"I think I'll wear this home. What do you think?"
