# Royally Played: Wills and Kate (and some other people) at the Festival of Remembrance

## Wills and Kate (in D&G)

I mean, I can't REALLY ding her for looking boring, because if she showed up at a Festival of Remembrance looking too flashy, then everyone would get on her case about that. But I DO want to know if D&G gives a discount if you buy lace cocktail dresses in bulk. I also wonder if Kate ever looks at her closet and says, "ugh, it's true. I AM bad at cocktail dresses. Wait. Am I even *supposed* to be wearing a cocktail dress for this? Can someone just BRING ME a cocktail?"

Wills is thinking, "I ALSO want a cocktail."

## Wills, Kate, Prince Andrew, Princess Anne

As you guys know, I am ALWAYS delighted to see William in his glasses. As I said to Heather as we looked at this photo on Twitter while sitting in one of the terminals at LAX a few hours ago -- I AM REPORTING FROM A PLANE, YOU GUYS -- they balance out his head.

Also, I don't know if I've ever seen Kate even talk to Prince Andrew. I hope they're chatting about all the interesting things [they recently learned about Kazakhstan in this week's Royals Round-Up](https://www.gofugyourself.com/royals-round-up-november-6th-2015-11-2015/the-queen-receives-the-president-of-kazakhstan?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). (Behind them, obviously, Princess Anne scans for wrong-doers and anyone she might need to collar after the program.)

## Gran and Wills

I enjoy that the Queen is wearing THE FANCIEST POPPY IN ALL THE LAND. The queen of the poppies, if you will. I can merely assume that Wills just gave her some REALLY good dish about where Harry is (darts tourney, prize being the heart of some fair maiden, obviously).

## Sophie Wessex

Sophie also looks fine -- again, there is not a lot of latitude for sass at an event honoring the fallen -- although my tiny nit to pick is that the fuchsia lining of her sleeves doesn't match the poppies. I do appreciate the poppy bag, though. (We are not big users of symbolic poppies here in the US, so every time I type the word "poppies," I hear The Wicked Witch of the West croon, "Poppies... Poppies. Poppies will put them to sleep. Sleeeeep." Luckily, it seems that everyone stayed awake for this event. Imagine the *Daily Mail* headline: IT'S FEZZZZZZZTIVAL OF REMEMBRANCE AS CELEBRATING THE FALLEN PUTS KATE TO SLEEP.)

## The Whole Wacky Crew

And, finally, in case you want to eyeball the seating arrangements. I am delighted to see that Princess Michael "[Cat Portrait"](https://www.gofugyourself.com/royals-round-up-january-16-2015-01-2015/princessmichael?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) of Kent has HUGE HAIR for this solemn occasion. (Did you know she lives in an apartment at Kensington Palace? I like the idea the she often wanders over to Wills and Kate's to regale Kate with extremely crazy theories -- this is, after all, a woman whose cats are served breakfast on trays -- and attempt to borrow a variety of obscure jams, all because she's extremely nosy and wants to see what they're having for lunch. I also like to imagine that any time one of Harry's lady friends leave *his* KP apartment, Princess Michael of Kent JUST HAPPENS to be in the courtyard, like, raking the pebbles, the better to spy.)
