This child loves a cardigan. (I THINK this might be the same cardigan she's wearing in the new portrait with the Queen.) I'm sure she and her Great-Granny have lengthy chats about their most favorite cardigans. (I also just realized that I myself am currently wearing a cardigan as I type this. Cardigans for all! Also, the word "cardigan" has now lost all meaning.)

Here, she looks like Her Maj to me -- although one of you pointed out to us on Twitter that she ALSO appears to be the youngest member of Princess Anne's Royal Detective Agency. And it's true: NO ONE suspects that a baby will be the person to crack a case.

PS: I'm pretty sure that's Lupo way in the background, presumably digging a giant hole in the lawn into which later, post-Bloody Mary bar, Prince Harry shall fall. Happy birthday indeed.

Yesterday, Kate's British Vogue cover was released, and today, they released pics of Charlotte to celebrate her first birthday (which is May 2nd). And you know what that means!
