I always love these photos. It's obviously just...a moment, in a day full of them, but she looks like she's seriously contemplating. "How can I set up Harry and Serena? I should probably wait until AFTER Wimbledon, because Serena is busy. Will she WANT to date Harry after having dated Common??? I guess that's up to her. THINK, Kate. You can make this happen."

Next to Kate here, in the seat we usually see Wills grimacing in, is Phillip Brook (he's Wimbledon chairman), and then, of course, Sophie. Right behind Kate is Barry Gibb (right?) and then behind Sophie is Maggie Smith, then Sophie Turner. All I know is, this year has been kind of a garbage fire in terms of world news and MORE THAN ANYTHING we need the no-nonsense presence of the woman who is both the Dowager Countess of Grantham AND Professor McGonagall. AT EVERYTHING.

I have always liked this dress and continue to do so. It's nearly tennis ball-colored. (Kate's assistant Rebecca Deacon also looks jazzy today, behind her in the chevrons.) (I'm bored of talking about the shoes. Whatever. I'm tired.)

Here, Kate is chatting up Oracene Price, who is Serena and Venus's mom and while I am sure they're talking about, like, how amazingly fit both Serena and Venus are to have each played a singles match today before going on to play their doubles match, I like to think Kate's running her Prince Harry idea past her.

Let me turn it over to Informative Caption, to give these kids their due: "The Duchess of Cambridge meets ball boys and girls, from left, Dominic Barnaby, Olivia Mallett, Thomas Morais and Anissa Mayouf, during a visit to the Lawn Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in Wimbledon, London." I assume here they are complaining about how BIG the polo pony is on their shirts. YOU DON'T OWN WIMBLEDON, RALPH LAUREN. CALM DOWN.

I like Kate's bag -- it's so pleasantly large (you can fit water and sunglasses and a book and a scarf and sunscreen in there) and we hardly EVER see her toting a cute tote. I also like Soph's poufy skirt and star earrings, and I've decided they spent a lot of time making subtle "can you believe this??" faces at each other over holiday meals at various palaces.
