## Kate in Erdem

I believe this is intended by Erdem to be an actual overcoat, but Kate never took it off, and -- per the What Kate Wore Twitter account -- [she's wearing a camisole under it that she's used with a different suit before](https://twitter.com/WhatKateWore/status/786888126157451264?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). Does this mean she is using the coat AS a dress, and wore nothing underneath? Surely not? And yet it looks like it's been pegged shut quite securely, so maybe she is. KATE, you RASCAL.

## Kate

See, it looks like the coat's been sealed up tight but for an inch at the bottom there. And she's got the hand with the purse clamped in front of it. KATE, you minx. (Not that it's such a big deal to turn a coat into a dress; if that's what she did, though, it just makes me laugh to imagine her being like, "HAVE I ERRED OR WILL THIS WORK???" I would spent the entire day paranoid about it.)

## WIlls and Kate

Synchronized waving and cheerful reacting: a vital event in the Royal Olympics. (I like WIlliam's tie.)

## Kate & Tots

The kids of Manchester were -- as is common everywhere -- pretty stoked to see her. She remained very composed while shaking hands with The Burger King, even while being stared down by an eyeless photo of her own face.

## Cheeeese

Apparently, one MAY pose for iPhone photos.

## Will and Kate

![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2016/10/GettyImages-614558416.jpg)

Informative caption: This is "a paving stone ceremony for Victoria Cross recepients at the Manchester Cenotap." In WWI, 628 Victoria Crosses were given out, per KP's Twitter account, and six recipients were born in Manchester. This was paying tribute to them.

As you'll see, Kate kept her graceful ponytail here...

... but then, and I've no clue why, at some point in the day she ditched it and let it all fly free. Perhaps it's in honor of going starkers under her coat. (I'm kidding. I'm SURE she's got undercrackers on.)

## The Duke & Duchess Of Cambridge Visit Manchester

These two also visited the National Football Museum, where Wills got to meet a member of England's 1966 World Cup champion team -- and caress the winning ball, obviously. Then he gave one a boot in the simulator. Kate didn't, and I've decided it's because she's too nervous about whether she's pulling off going bare under her coat. I wonder if she and William picked a safe word they could hiss at each other whenever they need to reference this issue. Like... I don't know. Turnip.

## Kate and Wills

Then they popped over to the National Graphene Institute for some SCIENCE (and they contributed to a time capsule). Apparently the study of graphene is being pioneered in Manchester; it's [a carbon allotrope yada yada graphite yada honeycomb transparent yada](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphene?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io). it's super thin and flexible, yet 100 times as strong as steel, so obviously people are pretty interested in isolating it and sorting out how to make more of it and where to apply it. [Forbes had a big piece about this visit that explains it better](https://www.forbes.com/sites/carmendrahl/2016/10/14/why-prince-william-and-kate-middleton-toured-the-national-graphene-institute/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io#4c751d8a5ead). Apparently components of this car are ALSO graphene.

## Wills and Kate

"Want to give it a spin, Kate? Georgie would love it for Crimbo."

"TURNIP, WILLIAM."

## Wills

![](https://static.gofugyourself.com/uploads/2016/10/GettyImages-614601092.jpg)

"Er... I'm quite stuck, actually.'

## Francis House

"Tell Harry I've got a goat that's THIS TALL, if he'd like to pop 'round for his own visit."

[Royally Played: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (in Erdem) Visit ManchesterA fairly sassy new coat for Kate today, and with navy shoes, to boot. Quite tolerable, madam. The trip to Manchester involved what must have been a touching stop at Francis House, which provides end-of-life care and grief counseling -- and which Diana herself opened 25 years ago. The final stop of the day for The Duke and Duchess in Manchester is @FrancisHouseCH, which Princess Diana officially opened in 1991 pic.twitter.com/mf2riRzat6 — Kensington Palace (@KensingtonRoyal) October 14, 2016 Twitter has noted that Kate's earrings seem to echo the ones Diana chose. It could be a coincidence, but given how often these two like to dip into the archives, I'm guessing it was no accident. And it's a nice touch The Duke and Duchess sign their photograph for the @OfficialUoM time capsule before unveiling a plaque pic.twitter.com/7Fe6LuNW7F — Kensington Palace (@KensingtonRoyal) October 14, 2016 I love how this photo makes it look like William is unveiling a plaque of his own face (it's just his reflection).
