"BYE CANADA! WAVING IS FUN AND SO IS GETTING ON THIS WEIRD BOAT PLANE THAT I'M SURE THEY'LL LET ME FLY IF I ASK NICELY."

PS: FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THE DOUBLE-HANDED WAVE IS VERY HARD WORK. YOU'RE WELCOME."

Wills looks very handsome -- and if this afternoon has involved a LOT of child-wrangling; I love the bit in the video I posted where he basically has to restrain George from making a run for it. Kate's cream Catherine Walker coat is lovely -- I still regret not buying a cream coat I tried on at Banana Republic in like 2004 -- and I cannot complain about her shoes after the ones she trotted out this morning (coming later in the post; I couldn't resist starting with the kids).

Even Charlotte did a ton of waving; it was EXTREMELY cute. I think a lot of discussions about the importance of waving at the people who are staring at you have FINALLY sunk in, and how. These two are determined to be the WORLD'S BEST WAVERS.

Charlotte also did a lot of POINTING. She's become a very determined little lady.

"Honestly, Mother, what is even happening here?"

And this is the big farewell! George is CLEARLY already plotting what kind of adventures he's going to get up to when they get home. "YES, YES, EVERYONE KNOWS WE CAN WAVE. WE HAVE WAVED EXTREMELY WELL. NOW IT'S TIME TO GET INTO THIS INTERESTING PLANE NOW, PLEASE. IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU VERY MUCH."

Rewind to earlier today. Oh, Canada (now you've got the anthem in your head), your kids are very cute. In case you're wondering, Kate's jacket is from Zara, her pants are...I dunno, pants, and the shoes are, as I mentioned, J Crew.

A pattern AND a tassel! Here's hoping this tour's slightly more adventurous shoe wardrobe turns into a trend.

Kate's outfit is a totally normal outfit that any normal person might wear on any Wednesday to her office and, as such, it's wholly inoffensive, but, you guys, if that's what it takes for Kate to believe that she can get away with patterned shoes, I'M FINE WITH THAT. As I said the other day, an exciting shoe wardrobe wasn't built in a day. This is PROGRESS. Let's give POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT to this choice!

I feel like George might have enough personalized jerseys now that he could wear one to school every day of his tiny life. (Don't worry; Charlotte got one, too.)

"Aren't you glad we decided on coordinated but not matching jackets, poppet? And so many pockets. SO CONVENIENT!"

Let's turn to Informative Caption, which informs us that this is "The Duchess of Cambridge on the tall ship, Pacific Grace, before sailing with members of the Sail and Life Training Society." Works for me.

I just read that Wills and Kate had a whole convo with this dude about his "magnificent beard," and that Kate told him "her brothers" are currently have a beard-growing competition. I had this moment where I was like IS THERE A SECRET MIDDLETON?!!?! And then I realized, duh. She meant Harry.

"Thanks for briefly letting me abscond with this fantastic boat, Canada."

Canada's like, "What can we say? It IS a really good-looking ship."
