## Kate and Maxima at Remembrance Sunday

![kate-maxima-harry-william-remembrance-day](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2015/11/gettyimages-496248866.jpg)

There are loads of photos of them looking appropriately solemn, but I could not resist this one. I feel like Maxima is one of those people who react satisfyingly to whatever story you are telling her. Like, you know how there are some people who will give you the appropriate OH MY GOD to a juicy piece of intel, and those who just don't have any reaction at all? Maxima seems like type one. Also: I love what we can see of Kate's coat. ([In full, it is this one; scroll down for the coat, but all of Susan's commentary at What Kate Wore is, as always, excellent](https://whatkatewore.com/2015/11/08/kate-wears-patchwork-alexander-mcqueen-for-remembrance-sunday/?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io).)

I told you there was solemnity!

I decided this was the point at which they were all making faces at their respective spouses. I'd also like to give full marks to everyone's hat, AND Maxima's Hair Person really earned his or her keep today. That is one regal bun.

## Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth, King Willem-Alexander

In case you were worried the Queen accidentally showed up in a leopard print jumpsuit or something, she did not. And this seems like a good moment for Informative Caption: "The National Service of Remembrance takes place at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London. The Queen, senior politicians, including the British Prime Minister and former British Prime Ministers, alongside representatives from the armed forces pay tribute to those who have suffered or died at war. "

## Princes Harry and William (w. Prince Andy in the background)

I'm NEVER going to deprive you of Princely Swords. Especially when deployed with Formal Military Uniform Coats. (I love that William's coat has a little attachment to fold it back for Easy Access To Sword.)

## Wills and Harry

Bonus points for a very neatly trimmed beard indeed.

[Royally Played: Wills and Kate and Harry at Remembrance DayNo one told me Maxima was going to be there! (In fairness, someone probably did and I just didn't absorb it.) It is the 70th anniversary of the British liberation of the Netherlands, so she and King W-A popped by to mark the occasion (of which The Telegraph had excellent coverage). As ever, and rightly, we don't have a complete shot of anyone's outfit, but Kate's coat is Alexander McQueen (which is good news for those of us \[me\] who have been longing for some McQueen action), and goodness knows I always enjoy an event that involves uniforms, and William looking solemn in a hat. (And, in case you missed yesterday's event -- Kate is in one of D&G's Sexy Italian Widow outfits, except not that sexy; Wills is wearing his glasses; Princess Michael of Kent is wearing ALL THE HAIR -- you can eyeball those shenanigans here.) \[Photos: Getty\]![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bf/b9/bfb99790-924d-4e41-a7e6-5e3c6e04fe57/content/images/static-gofugyourself-com/uploads/2015/11/gettyimages-496248866.jpg)](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/royally-played-wills-and-kate-and-harry-at-remembrance-day-11-2015/)
