This is a new dress on Kate -- [it's this Diane von Furstenberg](https://www.net-a-porter.com/am/product/461661?cm%5Fmmc=LinkshareUS-%5F-J84DHJLQkR4-%5F-ProductFeed-%5F-Diane%5Fvon%5FFurstenberg&siteID=J84DHJLQkR4-%5FSb4FJll2%5FCwoRlR2wIyaQ&ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io) \-- and I am beginning to think she feels about black/navy lace evening gowns the way we both feel about sailor-striped shirts: That they're IRRESISTIBLE. Because this new dress reminds me [a wee bit of this old dress (although not as much in actual fact as in my memory).](https://go-fug-yourself.ghost.io/happy-birthday-fug-or-fab-kate-middleton-01-2012/) That's not a complaint. While no black evening gown will ever reach[ the heights of THIS black evening gown](https://www.gofugyourself.com/well-played-kate-middleton-with-an-assist-from-princes-william-and-harry-12-2011?ref=go-fug-yourself.ghost.io), we are in a different time (and she is in a temporarily different body) and I think she looks great in this. I also know a lot of you are very pleased about the up-do, and frankly, so am I. Let's examine all of this far more closely.
